My pleasure. I, too, have been looking for this one for years. St. Chadwick pointed me to a game trading site. I was able to make contact with one and work out a deal. For those interested, I have 5 more classic games. Please be patient, because I have to rip them from the DVD, convert the file format, join the discs together (some are 2-3 discs), and then upload to the site before I can post it. Here are the five:
December 14, 1980 - Saints @ Jets - (The Saints only win that year)
September 18, 1983 - Bears @ Saints
December 6, 1987 - Bucs @ Saints (clinched first-ever playoff berth)
December 20, 1987 - Saints @ Bengals (7th of 9 game win streak)
October 9, 1988 - Saints @ Chargers
I'll post them all, just give me some time
saintsfan4210 07-06-2009, 09:23 PM what a great game and wow what a defense. When was the last time the Saints shut a team out?
killah 07-06-2009, 09:33 PM Maxie was a better player then I remembered.
CDThe1 07-06-2009, 09:34 PM The last shutout was in 1995, last game of the season, we beat the Jets 12-0. Not exactly a domination though. Prior to that, in 1992, we beat the Jets, again on the last game of the season 20-0. I see a pattern emerging here, hope we can shut them out this year!
nealkm 07-06-2009, 09:52 PM Thanks!

UFCSaint 07-06-2009, 11:11 PM I was working at Toys R Us at the time and remember watching this game on one of the TV's in the game display case. I remember being very proud to be a Saints fan that day....
feoinfunroe 07-06-2009, 11:45 PM Thank you!!!!!!!
It suddenly struck me where I was during that game...in Michigan, outside of Detroit, on the shore of Lake Erie. I remember now...my girlfriend at the time told me, "Let's go visit my father, and you can watch the game there." because we didn't have a TV.
Well, I got to watch the first half, which was the only Saints football I'd seen up there, but at half-time I got kicked off the TV because my girlfriend's father had some Disney VCR tape he'd gotten her kids...so I spent the second half out in the driveway, in my car, listening on the radio on the CBS Westwood One Network...or heck, it could have even been WWL since I had that big 'ol lake to get a skip off of...I just remember listening in the freezing cold.
For some reason, that ticked them off that I'd rather sit in the car listening to the Saints than sit around with them...I thought I was being a perfect gentlemen by giving up the TV without a fight, actually. :idunno:..go figure...it spelled the death-knell of that relationship...:hihi: But ultimately that worked out because I moved back to Louisiana that January, and the rest is history. :hihi:
Anyway, thanks again.
It was funny to see that the Saints should have had three more sacks at least, had the refs enforced the rules back then. No WAY Elway could get away with those plays these days.
Roux1918 07-06-2009, 11:45 PM I was there. I think the best game I ever saw them play.
