We need more production from our running game if we expect to go the distance.

Since the question is, what is most surprising, the answer has to be Colston. Who had a single thought about him when the draft ended?

Almost all could have been selected, but Brees performance thus far is absolutely incredible. It is a real tribute to his dedication and discipline to his rehab, as well as a great job by his surgeon.

Hard to come up with just one - All were good choices. How about just this "very special" season?

OL only 8 sacks? WOW. I would have thought that Brees would have been killed/mugged and/or hurt by now.

All great choices, no easy pick...but I voted for Coach...what a turnaround
with Peyton at the helm...

All these choices were surprising, but how can you go against Peyton? I mean it is because of all these things that the other surprises happened. Without Peyton, we may never draft Colston, we still may have Gandy and be starting Mayberry which means our o-line blows and finally we may never get Brees.

While you can make an argument for all those things Peyton is the one I voted for because he has played an important role in all of the other choices turnaounds.

The defense has been the biggest surprise to me. Isn't it great that almost all these surprises have been good ones?

Gotta go with the OL... (I refuse to call Colston/Hofstra a "surprise".. cause he came from the same u. as Wayne Chrebet (who btw, was undrafted)).

I voted for Colston. I can't remember anyone from this board who saw Colston coming. I never heard anything about him in training camp. It's as if he came out of nowhere. A 7th round WR from Hofstra who no one ever heard of is now is a candidate Rookie of the Year. Who woulda thunk it?

My second choice from your poll would be how successful coach Payton has been in turning the Saints from a 3-13 team into a now 6-3 in mid-season team.

Truthfully the biggest surprise for me is that New Orleans still has a team at all. After the Superdome and the city was all but completely destroyed, the loss of population and economic difficulties. Not to mention Benson's obvious desire to move the Saints to San Antonio or L.A., it is a miracle that we still have a team in New Orleans at all. Thank you Paul Tagliabeau. But when the Saints sold out of season tickets and Saints fans came together like they did, I was not surprised at all. After all that Louisiana and Mississippi has been through and we still sold out the season, maybe the NFL has finally figured out that New Orleans and the gulf south region deserves a NFL team because it belongs there.

+1. If the running game was more consistent, I would pick the O-line outright. I hope they'll make me consider my vote over the last 7 games by turning it on in run blocking and getting Deuce a lot more yards!

I follow college football but didn't recognize Colston's name when we drafted him. Never dreamed he'd be this producitve.
