Given his vacillation on the issue, this perhaps gives some clarity and enables the OKC power shakers a chance to address alternatives. Link might require registration.

I hate how New Orleans ends up with 2 of the worst owners in pro sports.

I hope he's at peace with his team being a distant second in this town if the Saints are playing like they are. The Hornets would probably be second-fiddle even if the Saints were struggling.

Realize that -- while I say this -- I don't trust Benson or Shinn. But I think even Tom realizes (now) that winning and not criticizing the fans works better than being mediocre (at best) and constantly belittling the real fan base and their wallets.

I Hope Hornets come back to new Orleans in 08 and make a run to the Championship, Wouldn't it be Nice to be from a City of Champions?

"At peace"? Is that like settling for a wife/husband?

Perhaps he's serene because an NBA league subsidy is bailing him out. He has 3/4ths of a season in what is now a lame duck venue. He could have bought another month of silence to keep the locals guessing. Now all suspense is lost. Helpfully for him, there's no winter or spring competition for the entertainment dollar around here. Seattle will probably strike a deal to keep OKC resident and team owner Clay Bennett in the Seattle region. Once viewed as a realistic backup, Seattle stays, and OKC becomes the NBA's rent-a-mule.

Shinn is a terrible owner and showing himself to be a terrible human being. His God is green, and looks an awful lot like dead US Presidents - or Ben Franklin/Alexander Hamilton.
