INDIANAPOLIS — According to NFL.com, the Indianapolis Colts have opted not to match the four-year, $16.5 million offer that starting cornerback Jason David received from the New Orleans Saints last Friday.
But team president Bill Polian, however, refused to acknowledge Thursday that a decision had been made on whether to keep David on the roster. Indianapolis officials were expected to inform the Saints by 4 p.m. on what direction they wanted to go.
"There's no update now. We're still working through some issues. We don't have to do anything. If 4 o'clock comes and goes and we match, then we match. And if we don't, we don't. Right now we're working through the last little details. We'll make a decision here shortly, but one hasn't been made yet," Polian said during an NFL draft preview press conference.
