Sucks to loose Collins to an out of state team, he's the real deal, BUT doesn't hurt LSU all that much, they still have a very underrated recruiting class and could still be heralded as one of the best in the country when it's all said and done
I am reading the article on NOLA right now about this safety kid that is committing to Bama. Its funny though, because repeatedly he says, "I feel more at home in Alabama." Where has this kid been living for the last entirety of his life? Do people in that pocket of Louisiana hate LSU that much where Bama feels like home over LSU? Come on man, if your going with Bama don't say its because it feels like home, say something smart like, "I will probably be able to start quicker at Bama."
The LB that picked Bama over LSU has a bit more reason. Bama as of late has put a few more LB's into the NFL than LSU, so he is probably looking at that little fact and saying, do I want to put myself in a better situation to succeed and make it to the NFL, or do I want to be another lb to go through LSU.
She just said she felt LSU was the better school for him. Thing is though she should have been supporting him.
Yes, crappy parenting for sure. I wanted the kid but if you tell them to do one thing they're gonna do the opposite. In any event this isn't like hes doing drugs or something. This is college. Support your son publicly even if you disagree with his reasons in private.
Hes probably headed there because of the girlfriend. Cant really say I would make a better decision. I would've sold my baby brother for a steady girlfriend at that age.
Nobody knows the situation but them.
Good luck to the KID. He's a very talented football player. A kid with his talent would do well at bama or LSU. There is nothing wrong with a kid wanting to get away from home and play for a great program.
I won't get on his Mother either. Maybe, she sees that her son is following a girl and thinks thats a bad idea. Who knows.
Personally, I think it would have been awesome if Mom would have "Tiger Bait'd" him after the announcement.
Oh so instead of just being whipped he deliberately wasted LSU's time for the last however long we've pursued him.
Great save there.
I hardly knew who he was before a month ago so I'm not hurting over this. Move on. Gunner Kiel can enjoy passing all over his head for the next couple seasons.

I don't know that he wasted LSU's time any more than Gunner Kiel did. For all we know he could've told LSU recruiters a while back that he was a Bama lean. Would we not want them to still try to flip him?
We continuously recruited Kiel even when he was a Indiana commit. You do your due diligence until they sign on the dotted line.
Bet the mom isn't going to have a problem driving her Bentley in 4 years.

of course he wasted time. Our efforts to land him could have been focused on another.
As of last week LSU officials were 100% sure he was signing with LSU. Then the phone call the other night. Caught folks in the "know" off guard. Completely. I didnt get an explanation as to why he played LSU recruiters, but was told "he did".
So yeah dont like him right now. Yes the recruiting of him will not cease. He may indeed flip again before signing day. No shame in this game.

Saban has a better track record of developing recruits into first round picks, and Alabama is a better school academically. I really don't see how it's a tough choice if those are the things that are important to him.

Man... even if Collins was shaky on his commit earlier (and I believe he was not) he has to be solid now. Apparently their are rant-***** on Twitter and they have bombed both his and his GF's account with venom and filth... it is embarrassing really.

That's horrible! Why can't folks just let the kid live his life. Right or wrong, he still has the right to choose.
Vanderbilt is the only SEC school in the top 50 (#17), and Texas A&M joins Florida as the 2nd highest ranked school in the conference, tied at #58 in the country.
