Hope sticking with JJ was worth it.
Sad thing is, if he had just put Lee in the game none of this would be happening. Teams lose the National Championship game every season but it doesn't hurt a program like this.
Actually from what I understand it had more to do with Miller wanting to be early enrolled wherever he went and we did not have the room to accommodate him with the others we had coming in early. It makes sense since he was a December grad... also there is the Gonzo connection since that is who was recruiting him.
... and correct me if I am wrong, but he is a 4star is he not?

Maybe true but odd that he early enrolled 3 days after the NC game and had been a strong verbal player since July with no other teams really on the radar.
Plus, he isn't exactly going to come out and say that he didn't go with LSU because of one game. That would make him look pretty bad.

Well if you really want to get into it he attended his first class today... which likely means he was already enrolled.

"I know I had a better chance to play earlier here," Miller said.
That's probably a factor, plus the relationships he already had with the staff there. Need I say kids worrying that they'll have to sit behind the incredible talent already there is a nice "problem" for LSU to have to face with its recruits?

I'm not sure it was THE factor or not, but supposedly Miller wanted to enroll early and LSU could not accomodate that due to other commitments. Sort of a numbers thing.
Ever since the beginning of the new year, LSU has taken one blow after another. I hope we keep most of the current class in tact....and maybe land one of the "big ones" in a surprise coup on signing day. That would get the positive vibes rolling again.
Not a big story. A player (some think Lee, but it doesn't matter) didn't graduate as expected last semester (Lee is confirmed to have graduated, but after the winter session so his scholarship still counts for the upcoming semester). So there was one less scholarship available than anticipated.
He could enroll and pay for the first semester before going on scholarship, but chose not to and went to Auburn instead. I would guess that factor plus playing time might have had an impact on his decision.

This. Lee ****ed us again. He was supposed to graduate in December, but instead he graduated in January which is 2012. Had Lee graduated in December we would have had room for Miller to be an early enrollee. You'd think that all the time he had sitting on the sidelines he would have been studying more.

My football watching season is now officially over... that sucked, both Monday and today, time for Recruiting/Draft/Off-season.
Typed this up during halftime because I cannot stand the "expert analysis".
Many people (including myself) want to know who we are still in on as this recruiting class comes to an end. Well nothing I am going to post here is novel... none of it is inside info, but I figured I would just bring together the players that Scout and/or Rivals feel we are still in on.
I am going to sort them into three groups.
Group 1 will be players that are uncommitted and that have LSU in their highest interest level. By highest interest level I mean that if a player has any teams at High and LSU at lower than high I will not list them, but if the player has Medium as their top interest level and LSU is Medium they will be listed.
Group 2 is the group with the best potential. This group are the players that have LSU in their highest interest level grouping and have a visit pending between now and NSD according to one or both of the recruiting sites.
Group 3 will be players that are listed by a service as committed to another school but still have a scheduled visit listed with LSU between now and NSD... gives us a shot.
All of these players supposedly have offers from LSU.
Group 1
OLB Kwon Alexander (Scout, Rivals) - Strange feeling he and Phillips are waiting on each-other
S Nelson Agholor (Scout) - Not in top schools per Rivals
OL Michael Flint (Rivals) No Scholarship offer per Scout
OG Alex Kozan (Scout) Not in top schools per Rivals
OLB David Perkins (Scout) Not in top schools per Rivals
OLB Deaysean Rippy (Scout) Not in top schools per Rivals
WR Artimas Samuel (Rivals) - No Scholarship offer per Scout
Group 2
QB Jeremy Liggins (Scout 1/20, Rivals No visit) - Are we still offering this guy after Gunner committed?
OLB Lorenzo Phillips (Scout 1/20, Rivals No visit) - LSU lock IMO
CB Tracy Howard (Rivals 1/27) - Florida has higher interest on Scout
EDIT#1: WR Cordarrelle Patterson (Scout No visit, Rivals 1/27)- Big physical receiver who is the #1 JUCO recruit this year
Group 3
DE Mario Edwards (Scout 1/20, Rivals 1/20)
OL/DT Justin Shanks (Scout 1/20) - Not in top schools on Rivals
S/WR/OLB Corey Thompson (Scout 1/20, Rivals 1/20)

What are the chances that Collins switches to LSU? He seemed to be hard set on Alabama initially.
I don't know he did say that he's been wanting to come to Bama for 2 years now. Figure it would be kinda hard to flip him now but who knows I've seen firm commits flip before.
Who knows. No real way to tell, but I like that Miles isn't about to let the state's best player leave to a division rival without a fight to the (bitter) end.

Any chance we can give Collins' girlfriend a full scholarship to LSU?
