Committed after the LSU Elite Camp. A lot of coaches in Texas compare him to Von Miller coming out of High School. Hs is what you refer to as an "upfield" player. The guy just attacks and is always around the ball. His name is pronounced "DUH-NEEL" for those of you snickering.

Some players commit because of the facilities. Some commit because of the Head Coach. Other commit because they grew up watching LSU and want to stay cloe to home. Patrick has committed because of... the hunting and fishing (or at least this is the rumor). He's going to graduate early and be enrolled at LSU in time for the end of duck and small game season. He also has family in the NOLA area.
I caught him on the radio last week and it just so happens that it's posted on the local station's website.

On the very first day that coaches could call Junior High School prospects, Florida WR Avery Johnson gave his verbal to play for LSU despite LSU not even offering him a scholly yet. He will be a 5-star when it's all said and done and many feel that he could end up as the consensus best player from Florida in 2012. He's also Patrick Peterson's little brother and best friends with a guy many feel will be the best O-Lineman in the state who happened to have (unofficially) visited LSU with AJ already.
Check out AJ's sophomore year film:

My favorite part of the clip is the second scene showing him blocking a DB well after the RB has run past him and into the endzone.
I'm really excited about this recruit. 2012 is a looong time away in the world of recruiting, so a lot can happen between now and then. Talk about good genetics in that family!
Time spent as defending Superbowl Champions and counting!
It may be a long ways away but getting a recruit of his caliber this early, which makes LSU a contender for the OL known as Nacho, is about as good a beginning to a recruiting class as you can have. Like you said, long ways to go, but were sitting pretty good right now with possibly the two best players in the state of Florida for the 2012 recruiting class so I'm very excited

A 10 win season is critical this year to keep up the recruiting.
