Next season is here in terms of recruiting. LSU has already added two impressive recruits to the 2012 class in Johnson and Granier. A big portion of the class will be from outside the state this year as the talent level is not nearly as deep as this past season's. That is not to say that there are not definite jewels to be mined. It's just not going to have a lot of "stars" attached to the Louisiana kids next year.

It's been a while since Louisiana has produced some good LBers. 2012 is the year that changes. There will be as many as five real good ones with a couple being the LB/DE hybrid types that NFL defenses love now. LSU is in great shape for them all if they want. This class of LBers could be as good as the Trev Faulk, Bradie James, etc. group.

ATH Davante Bourque Crowley, Louisiana
ATH Devon Breaux Donaldsonville, Louisiana
ATH Darion Monroe Reserve, Louisiana
DB Landon Collins Geismar, Louisiana
DB Chris Morgan Baton Rouge, Louisiana
DB Devonte Thomas Aldine, Texas
DB Terry Richardson Detroit, Michigan
DE Bryan Singleton Destrehan, Louisiana
DE James McFarland West Monroe, Louisiana
DE Channing Ward Aberdeen, Mississippi
DE Jordan Thurman Louisville, Kentucky

DT Jacoby Briscoe Carencro, Louisiana

DT Quay Evans Morton, Mississippi
DT Xavier Joseph Livonia, Louisiana
LB Juwan Rogers Amite, Louisiana
LB Darius Hall Miami, Florida
LB Royce Jenkins-Stone Detroit, Michigan
LB Kaiwan Lewis Hammonton, New Jersey
OL Josh Hess Richlands, Virginia
OL D.J. Humphries Charlotte, North Carolina
OL Vadal Alexander Buford, Georgia
OL Derek Edinburgh New Orleans, Louisiana
OL Abraham Garcia Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I have him on the list as a DE, but I read that he will play OLB at LSU. He has offers from Bama, Arky, OU and A&M.

Here is a good read on TigerRag.com that speaks on some of the talent that LSU will be looking to sign in 2012...

LSU invited several Juniors for a visits weekend and received verbal commitments from a TE prospect and a LB prospect. I'll have more details later today.

Great start to junior day. Dillon Gordon and Ronnie Feist. Gordon is the top tight end in the state. Feist is a fast defensive end who probably projects as a linebacker.

Dural and Louis are both Breaux Bridge boys. Been watching them for a while now. Louis had to transfer to Teurlings after his sophmore season and sat out last year. Dural has the best hands in the state, Louis has been playing since he was a freshman and is great at either RB or LB but prefers RB. Physical specimen but not in the sense that he's huge, just a tremendous athlete.
