Here's a question, has anyone ever recorded TWO earned wins in one day before as a pitcher?
I don't think Gausman will do it today as he's maxing out his pitch count here, but talk about an EPIC way to end your career in Alex Box in his very last day of playing here before going on to the pro's as the highest drafted player ever.
If I'm Gausman, I would refuse to be taken out of this game right now if I felt my arm could take it. haha He's still throwing great stuff and the ONLY reason SB has three runs right now is because of the rain earlier that appears to have cleared up by now. Keep him in coach if you can safely! This is epic!

If not for miracles yesterday, LSU would be looking at being swept at their own regional right now. I give credit to SB pitchers for largely keeping the ball down and inducing ground outs. But the LSU offense is not very good right now.

Miracle time again. If you have a Mouton rally monkey, better start spiking its hair. Put your cap on inside-out, put on a different shirt or whatever superstition works.
Well Snickeris is REALLY battling hard here by fouling off a million shots, so impressive at bat so far. Let's hope he can connect to keep this game going!
Holy smokes, the wackiness just doesn't end! Snickeris hit it dead to third for an EASY throw out to first, but the third baseman TOTALLY choked and airballed it.
Snickeris on second. Count is 3 to 1 now... Moore pops it up to the third baseman and let's them off the hook. Sheesh. Our batting lineup is horrible.
Their ace pitcher went the ENTIRE game, so we didn't even get to burn up any of their relievers either. Not good.
The last two games have been some really good baseball. I think the Tigers will pull it out in game three, but I hope that game is as good as the first two.
Hope we wear the gold jerseys tomorrow. Seems we always have a little more magic in them.
Ironically, I think a rain delay would have helped LSU today. If their starter would have had to go a stretch without pitching, he probably doesn't finish.

Oh well. Time to go earn it tomorrow!
You might be right. The rain seemed to really hit Gausman pretty good at the beginning of the game and favored SB in game 2.
Stony Brook's ace pitcher is pure BEAST MODE. He's pitched three games this week and really high pitch counts with a complete game today giving up only one run. That's unbelievable!
Gausman did unbelievable today under the circumstances, but the rain and our pitiful batting lineup was just too much for anyone to overcome. Sorry his last game in Alex Box had to end like that, but he played really well at least!
SB's coach said he has no idea who will start tomorrow other than a rightie. That's probably not true, but does seem to indicate to me that he doesn't have a true third pitcher to throw at LSU. However Eades is CLEARLY the guy for LSU here, so I feel better about tomorrow's chances now that I've heard that. I'm guessing their pitching staff isn't anywhere near as deep as LSU's. But with an 80% chance of rain tomorrow, it's anybody's guess what will actually happen. All I know is that I hope we never have to see that SB ace pitcher again. Dude is beast mode.
Yeah, their pitcher was unreal. LSU better bring the bats tomorrow, or we'll be watching the College World Series from home.
The other thing that has been driving me bananas the past few weeks with this team is the boneheaded baserunning. Stealing at bad times, trying for an extra base in a situation we don't need it, etc.
