kid is from Indiana, so going to Notre Dame should be a no-brainer. Brian Kelly needs a QB, and kid can probably play next season. TV games, big schedule, close to home.

This was the first thing I actually thought about after the loss. Didn't think it would actually happen though.
me too.. actually while still sitting in the Dome shellshocked, my GF and i talked about how we hoped the debacle we just witnessed wouldn't impact Kiel's decision-- but then she made the point that he was probably even more solidified in his commitment since he could see how badly we needed a QB.

except that he had already commited to LSU.. and before that U. of Indiana.. so apparently it is a 'brainer."
so help me God, i hope this isn't true.. i mean, this nightmare has got to end sometime, right?
Ive been saying this all along since the Alabama game. Something is going on that the outside public does not know about. But people cry conspiracy bs when its discussed.

Hah yea - don't even mention that something may be going on within the program, because you'll get nothing but homer bashing.
Let me just say that if this is true, this is a growing trend in college football and may have less to do with LSU than you think. These blue chip QB's - they expect to be promised and given starting jobs and all the reps. Some even refuse to consider redshirting like they should.
The Notre Dame QB job is open and the kid could be a 3 year starter, and off to the pros. At LSU, the kid may not want to chance that Mettenberger, Rivers, and others are going to play ahead of him.
IF something were going on at LSU, why would Gunner be up-to-date on everything? Are the coaches calling him to let him know the house is burning???
Or did some juniors demand that Miles start Gunner next year over Mettenburger...and when Miles refused, the word got back to the kid. Wow, this soap opera is fascinating.
If the kid was unsure, he never should have verbally committed. It makes LSU look bad when in all probability, the kid doesn't want to leave home.

The NCAA needs to do something about these immature kids that commit and decommit on a whim. It affects the schools' recruiting efforts. What part of "commitment" is not understood. I can understand if a situation changes, but these kids like Kiel who change commitments like underwear need to be penalized for doing so.
