He ran the exact same formations and plays on offense, and the same exact formations on defense with nothing new to offer. Saban and Alabama's defensive unit knew the plays before Les even called them and was basically in their huddle all night. It's not that the execution wasn't there, there was just absolutely no spontaneity in play-calling resulted in getting roasted.

Saban did the exact opposite. He went after exploiting weaknesses he saw from the first games tape. For example, one of these is with Mathieu in the nickel. Saban found a soft spot in there defense with him due to his poor man-on-man coverage abilities. I'll admit, he's fantastic at jumping routes, but without a safety rotating over the top providing deep help he gets toasted, and that's exactly what happened. Saban sending a receiver deep right and another deep over the middle, and this takes the #1 CB and SS out of the equation. Now it's just man-on-man, Darius Hanks vs. Tyrann Mathieu. Hanks runs a medium-deep corner route and McCarron hits him back shoulder, right on the sideline. Not only once, but multiple times and it racked up 15-20 yards each time.

Les could've prepared better, he just simply got lazy and didn't. He decided to sit back on what he relied on, and what worked semi-decent in the first game, the option. And when that got shutdown by Alabama's LB unit, Les was caught with his hand in the cookie jar and didn't have an answer.
Wish I could give you flack, but well said.

Think your QB can keep up that pace next year? At least Richardson is gone. Looking forward to next year!

Till then, enjoy this twitter battle with two synthetic smoking, yet entertaining nutzos!

Thank you kind sir. And I don't know, I hope so. I was nervous at the start of last year when he was in a starting battle with Sims for the starting spot. McCarron eventually won the spot and hasn't looked back yet. I'm feeling more confident in him now.

And LOL. That was a fun little read. I think McCarron might actually take him up on that challenge. Haha. Either that, or he'll hook up with a sluggo. Hanks would give him the outside and when he bites on the first cut and pump-fake, Hanks cuts up for the bomb. LOL.

And sad to see Rich go, it was like when Ingram left. However we do have another Sherman tank ready to go. Eddie Lacy. I'm even more upset to see Mark Barron go to the Bucs. It's like when Julio went to the Falcons.

For an Alabama fan, NOTHING is like Julio going to the Falclowns!
