I know, there are a lot more football fans and a lot more bandwagon football fans. Baseball is a much smaller fanbase and probably fewer bandwagon fans. More of a family atmosphere, but still. The stories of the baseball crowd makes you proud to be an LSU fan. I know people who HATE LSU in football, but kind of root for them, or at least are neutral, in baseball for this very reason. Just an observation. Omaha LOVES LSU for this very reason.

I guess what I am trying to say is if you are a drunken idiot going to an LSU football game, please just stay home. There are lots of good fans that would buy those tickets.
There's a big difference between shooting yourself in the foot and losing to a better team.

SB was the better team. I have no problem giving them their props. They just made us look silly. They played a clean game. They played with heart. They had more players drafted than we did and I can see why. You could really enjoy watching them play, because they really enjoyed it. They absolutely loved their time at the Box and enjoyed playing in front of our LSU fans. They had fun with us, we had fun with them as they crushed our hearts. They deserved it though and I wish them well in Omaha.

With that said, our batting lineup is absolutely TERRIBLE! Are we just dumping all of our scholarships into pitching or what's the deal here? I really wanna know why our batting lineup is so embarrassing, so please tell me if you know. How come the only hitters that we have are Katz/Rhymes? I don't think I've ever seen an LSU team with worse hitters than our guys (outside of Katz/Rhymes.)

So, uh... how popular are the SB coaches going to be after this friggin season? For real, beat Miami twice in their place and then come to LSU and humiliated us? Just craziness. I wouldn't mind getting a crack at their batting coach if he's the real reason for that success.

And yea, our outfield fielding was terrible! Blah, just embarrassing loss for LSU. Oh well, always next year! Coach Maineiri better, personally, get on the recruiting trail and figure this out. Pitching only gets you so far, but they can't score points for you. Gausman was the #4 pick (and first overall pitcher) selected in the draft this year, so our pitching can't get any better than this year. Clearly we need some bats!

I watched the 2nd inning, it was 5-0 and SB had the bases loaded and stranded the runners....they had their chance.

LSU clearly did not belong in the CWS this year... I was kinda hoping SB would perform better, they were a fun team to watch this year. Blah.

So LSU got completely dominated by a team that was completely smoked in the CWS. Dayum.

Yea, pretty much! You can't win at the highest level without more bats in the lineup. Raph Rhymes can't hit at that pace forever, just wasn't possible.

Coach Mainieri has done an amazing job with our pitching, but batting has always been his weakness since arriving at LSU. He clearly needs to revisit whatever he's doing there and fix it.

Or at the very least, start campaigning the NCAA for a return to the gorilla ball days. Those were fun!
