Didn't think so...

I support Payton, but if you believe Goodell, Payton and Loomis were complicit in a program that paid players to injure players on opposing teams, and refused to put a stop to it when asked.
Many people are far more disgusted about paying for injuries than a man having an affair. You can choose which will be more disgusting to you.
Or I could choose to be disgusted by Miles allowing a player involved in an assault to start in the BCS title game.
That's all I'm saying. It's a dirty world. Glass houses....

Please. Good old internet. Where people feign outrage over a stranger cheating on his wife.

I personally thing the administrative leave has everything to do with Arkansas getting their ducks in a row to let Petrino go... I would bet their lawyers are making sure he has no protection in his contract from a compensation less firing, and that they are putting out feelers to see what big names they might be able to lure away at this late of an hour.
The obvious name Gus Malzahn
and the huge hire
Chris Petersen
I will elaborate a bit on why I think Peterson could be the guy.
1) Arkansas has talent and their program is not really involved in this controversy, just the coach, so he would be coming in to a good situation.
2) Boise State has peaked, they have lost some serious talent over the last two seasons and have seen their attempts at building a conference around them fall in ruins. The program has very little money to dramatically improve their facilities and Peterson will have to fight to simply maintain the level of competitiveness he has managed thus far.
3) Fayetteville has a small town feel, it is not a small town and is actually a decent metropolitan area, but it is by no means a big city and Peterson has supposedly voiced a disinclination towards coaching in a big city. (this could have just been to assuage the fears of the BSU fans though when UCLA came calling)
4) Dont let the fact that Arkansas is a second rate SEC power fool you, nor the fact that they are situated in Arkansas. The University has a TON of money at their disposal and could easily buy him out, give Peterson a huge contract and all the tools he would need to bring the program to an elite level.
5) His chances of going to the national title increase one hundred fold in the SEC and instead of fighting for every 3 star athlete he will have a chance at dipping in to the SEC and Texas talent pools every year.
Of course there are three reasons he might not take the job
1) He is a legend at BSU and regardless of where the program goes from here he will remain a legend as long as he stays, if he goes to Arkansas on a huge contract his honeymoon will be short and he will be expected to win and win big.
2) He loves Boise and dearly wants to prove the world wrong by winning it all there... what is the bigger achievement winning a BCSNC at a good program in a big conference or taking on the system and bringing a championship to a tiny school with next to no history or athletic budget, in a small city, in a tiny state?
3) It is past spring practice, not only would he be bailing on the program he has built at a very in opportune time, he would also be entering a new program and trying to implement a new system and his coaching culture fairly late in the game... a bad season right out of the gate would give opposing coaches a recruiting angle that Peterson is outmatched in the SEC and could start him off in a very poor position.
Anyway I just had the random thought at work... as an LSU fan I would be more than happy with Arkansas sticking with Petrino or going the Malzahn route.

Born and raised in Louisville, KY, I have been a lifelong fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals. That program, along with maybe one other team, is the only sports team that can eclipse my love for the New Orleans Saints.
I remember when we first bought season tickets at U of L when he joined the football team again as a Head Coach. He brought in a high octane offense, great talent, and an Orange Bowl championship to the Cards.
But, he has always had a shady past that has really disappointed me.
From his countless job interviews that he would do while at U of L (specifically for the Auburn job), and then jumping to the NFL with the Falcons (before promptly jumping off that ship mid-season), and finally going to Arkansas to dealing with yet another scandal, I can't help but feel like this man has really messed up his chances as being able to be accountable ever again.
It's a shame really. The man is a football genius. But he can't seem to ever stay honest. And thats the key to being a successful coach on any level.

What are the chances this girl was the most qualified for this job? How many MORE qualified candidates were passed up as a result of her nailing the boss? If you let him get away with this, how can you turn around and apply this standard to every other state employee and not allow them to hire their glorified hookers? Do we really want to promote dual standards for the "elite" and the "rest of us lowly citizens?" How much liability do you open yourself up to if you let Petrino get away with it, but then fire someone else for the same thing? And let's be cleared, anyone else would be fired. Also what sexual harrassment liability have you just incurred?
It's one thing to posses a blind eye about things you suspect might be wrong... it's another to have your dirty laundry on full display for all the world to see and openly flaunt the laws of the land like this.
I don't really see a choice here, you gotta fire the guy even though he's an amazing coach. You can't be allowed to use prized positions to get laid regardless of performance. The consequences of this attitude are too great.

Hogs will be contenders in the west as long as Petrino is at UA. We went from a laughing stock under Nutt to a BCS bowl under Petrino in 3 years. I can see why LSU fans mad bro.
And he's twice the coach Les Miles is. Unfortunately he has half the talent, but has still beat 'em 2 of 4 in his tenure. Wait until he can match talent.

No one is denying the dude is a baller as a coach. In fact, I thought the Gators should have targeted him to replace Meyer awhile back (even though that would have been bad for LSU.)
Problem is, he broke the law and used university funds to hire a former college student mistress to play a little stuff the company hog a little too literally.
If this was just an affair, so friggin what... or if he just lied, so friggin what... **** happens.
My only real problem from an employment standpoint was the sexual harrassment of an employee and denial of that job to whomever was the most deserving. We can't really tolerate that mentality, especially from our "leaders."

That's my issue as well, thought you're making a lot of assumptions regarding the harrassment and denial of more qualified candidates. Until you know that happened you're as bad as Florio, if not worse. My problem is people piling on because they don't like the guy "personally". All of this will come out, and the AD will make his judgement. I think he'll survive this at the UA unless it goes full "Tiger" and 18 women come forward. I'm scared that might happen, at which point Jeff Long's hand will be forced. At the moment, it's just bad PR. Would you be fired for banging a subordinant? Would I? Probably. Would a guy that's made millions for his company and is damn good at his job. Prolly not. But stay tuned.
