6 man blitz, single man coverage on Vernon Davis

Based on 40 seconds remaining and only 1 timeout and the 49ers some 45 yards away for a game tying FG, it was the single worst defensive call in NFL history.

Based on the situation at hand, there has been no worse call ever.

On that last possession, we should've been playing zone and keeping everything in front of us, since there was only 132 seconds, and they only had 1 timeout. Playing man-to-man was a mistake.

Oh, let's see. A tight end that runs a 4.3 40. That's like saying "Jimmy Graham owns so and so all day long."

I don't blame the players. I blame the DC (GW) for putting the defense in a horrible position.

Yeah, keeping everything in front of them would of been nice.

Just double davis. It's that simple! He's the only guy on that offense that's been giving you trouble at all... how are you not doubling him!

We did it with Dallas Clark in the Super Bowl. But no. GW did exactly what he did in the first Falcons game. Only this time he didn't get lucky... and it got us beat.

His stubbornness to blitz is mind-boggling.

I agree, I've defended Gregg all year, but after that he needs to either rethink his strategy or ship out. Anyone on this forum could get paid $4 million to not understand and react to the current situation.

Shanle in pass coverage! We need a stud DE and a full upgrade of all three LB positions.

With the way the 9ers were running the 2 minute drill, there was absolutely no excuse not keep everything in front of the defense. This one hurts... hurts badly.
