The only one who never returned anything that I remember was Alex Molden. I think I tried 3 separate years. Funny story about Roaf, I sent him a really nice rookie card. He kept that one, and then sent back an cheap autographed Score card in it's place.

What a story, that's funny about Roaf.
Used to mail all NFL teams when I was a kid, all the Saints ever sent me back was a schedule. Kansas City, Cleveland, and Buffalo used to send back stickers, schedules, even a poster from K.C. the year Joe Montana and Marcus Allen came to the team.

Back in the early 80's the Saints organization sent me schedules, pictures, and a 45 record with an NFL song on one side and a really cheezy Saints song on the other. "We love those Saints...New Orleans Saints..." to the tune of "When the Saints go Marching In" I think.
Of course I was probably only 1 of 5 kids who actually mailed the franchise during those years....

in what it seems like a cool idea, there are what thousands of fans thinking something similar and are trying to contact the players. I'd just be happy they are playing in Canton.

I've done I.T. for quite a few past and present players. All I can say is that if you don't treat them like everyday working folks like yourself, you'll be met with blank stares and awkward silence.
My best moments have been when you let them talk about their accomplishments on the field and augment their glory with how it affected you as a fan.
NEVER...EVER...bring up talking points from the taking heads on the media..if anything that causes friction. Its like criticizing someone about their job, when you have no idea.
I find that the best conversations with players are the ones that have absolutely nothing to do with football. Bonus if you can make them laugh while doing so...

I am friends with coach Bono(former asst. st coach) who is now with jags. Met him at Gumbo Yayas in Jacksonville in 2010 and we have been in contact ever since. I also try and keep up with mr. Loomis. He put me in the team hotel in Indianapolis in 07 after reading my Stars and Stripes interview. Cool people.
