So I'm trying to make a new tradition of going to an away game each year. Last year the trip toTampa was awesome but I think we might be planning a trip to New York this year. Maybe sleep in a hotel in NYC and take a train to the stadium. Any advice on planning a trip to nyc and is anyone else going to away games this year even after all this bounty mess?
I'll be at the NY game. We should get together with SaintsReport WhoDats and tailgate (strength in numbers )
BTW, There are hotels right across from Met Life Stadium (sheraton and a homestead suites.. not four star but workable) that I'm sure are much cheaper than NYC hotels.

Aw man don't stay there, stay in Manhattan.
Eat at Katz's and go get some drinks at the W hotel.
Check out Strawberry Field's in Central Park, Times Square, etc.
Im thinking about going to the game being that i live 45 min away from the stadium. Just gotta save up some money first but most likely going. I' went to watch the Brazil vs Argentina soccer game there. Great experience, nice, clean stadium. I recommend going to anyone interested.

True, I would rather stay in the city, but I'm super cheap
Regarding Katz Deli: I have had a couple head to head taste offs with Carnegie Deli vs. Katz Deli (lol, I'm fat, I'm not making this up). Although they were both good, Carnegie Deli was, hands down, the ultimate. Their Reuben has three pieces of Rye, open faced with literally about a pound of meat with a nice layer of toasted gooey cheese. CDeli had better flavored and more tender corned beef and pastrami, way more meat on the sandwich, better Russian dressing (homemade vs. bottle tasting) more cheese (Katz did have the better quality cheese though) that was toasted better and just a bigger better plate of eats. A little pricey, $22ish for Reuben, $18ish for corned beef sand, but it's worth it.
Also, cheese cake from tick tock diner (the one in the city, not NJ).
Carnegie Deli is next to the Late Show.. 54th and 7th ave I think. For the WhoDats coming to the city for more than the weekend, look into attending tv shows... They're free and there's a bunch of them in the city (Live w Kelly, Late Show, Dr. oz, Wendy Williams, jimmy Fallon, Colbert Report, Daily Show, etc.)
We are planning to go to the Denver game...could easily talk the wife into NY instead... she will be all over the internet looking at airline fare and ticket prices when I make the suggestion to her this evening.. SR members need to have a meet-up spot at the game or a restaurant.. top notch steakhouse sounds good to me. We will rule the town!

Where is Carnegie Deli? I'll have to check it out next time I go.
But you get what I'm saying, you can have a lot more fun in the city.
Hell you can ride the subway from Battery Park all the way to Sylvia's in Harlem for a couple of bucks.

We're thinking of making the road trip for that game (mind you, every game for us is a "road trip"). Spent time last year in NYC for the World Police and Fire Games. Terrific city to visit. Think it would be a bit too much for me to live there though

I'm definitely planning on flying for the Giants game. I went to the Saints/Giants game in 2008 and went to a Saints tailgate party. It was definitely worth it. Plus the Saints beat Eli!!
