According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints are prepared to make Brees, 33, the highest-paid player in NFL history with a five-year contract worth somewhere between $19.2 and $20 million a year.

20 million a year would be real close to what Brees wants, which apparently is around 20.5 million.

No he cannot talk with coach. Even though Drew is not under contract he is still a member and an officer in the NFLPA.

Under the terms of the suspension Payton can't talk with or have any contact with anything or anyone related to the NFL.

it is what it is................Payton has a knee...........

The Drudge Report has picked this up and is linking directly to the Mike Tripplett piece on Nola.com. For those of you who don't know, DrudgeReport.com is a right leaning aggregate site of news from around the web created by Matt Drudge who broke the Lewinsky story. It is the #1 website for news web hits in the billions and beats out CNN.com and other news orgs who all monitor what is posted on Drudge. This will easily make this Tripplett's most popular article ever.

I love how people get worked up over get negative repped. I just imagine people sitting on their sofas at home fretting and biting their nails because someone gave them some negative rep action. Jeez...

Manning basically got a one year deal. Brees would never take the deal Manning got.
