I don't understand this (or the statement about no charges filed in the Dumervil story).

How can a person be arrested without charges being filed? And specific to Dumervil, why would he need to post bond to be released if no charges were filed?

confused

How about Adrian Peterson getting arrested for resisting arrest? If he resisted arrest, what was the charge that was going to be filed prior to his alleged resisting?

Numerous outlets are reporting that according to court documents, Dumervil has been charged with third-degree felony aggravated assault with a firearm.

At least not until he runs off 15000 copies of the arrest report..

then he can say he has 15000 documents to support the suspension.

Also Dumervil has a previous assault incident. From another article:

" In 2010, Dumervil was charged with assault and disturbing the peace following an altercation with a parking-lot attendant at Invesco Field. The charges eventually were dismissed.
"
I think Dumervil is in serious trouble. If he is convicted of assault with firearm, that must mean prison - and even if not charged, this is 2 assault incidents in a short time. I foresee less than 16 games for him this season no matter what.

well if the NFL follows its current approach, you will just be told there is plenty of evidence and you should trust them. They will show absolutely nothing of merit, and what they do show will be proven to be shallow at best.

Getting arrested is one thing, getting charged or convicted is another.

Until we know the details, it could be no big deal to federal crime.

Btw, the alleged charge is a federal gun related crime. Could be up there with A. Talib's "gun fight".

If it is not taken to court, I believe Dumerville is a first time offender, so he'll likely either get no suspension or 1-4 games.

If he's charged and found guilty, he's out indefinitely and will be in Jail for 3-7 years, I think.

EDIT: Opps, not a first time offender. Probably getting a 1 game min ban.

Probably some garbage like failure to obey an officer's instructions. He just wanted some water man....

I understand why, but the police lose their collective minds if you don't just say "yes sir".
