I just came from Denver over the weekend to watch a Colorado Rapids vs FC Dallas game. The city is real nice. Just like any other city there is bad and good parts; however, I would lean to more beautiful parts than not. The surrounding cities are especially nice. Hit up the breweries if you looking for fun. I am sure others can point in the right direction better than me.

As time gets closer, just hit me up anyone. I can make recommendations.

The last time the Saints played here we tailgated in the Pepsi Center parking lot. We had plenty of elbow room and it's an easy walk from there to the stadium. I'd suggest the same this time around. I'm planning on being there with some homebrew, some New Orleans tunes and some sort of food (I make a pretty mean gumbo).

Been here 13 years. Nothing to get excited about. People are great if you like self centered, discourteous people who have no common courtesy or respect for other people. It's a total ME state. Worst drivers in the nation and I've driven semi's in all states. Anyway, planning on attending this game myself and the stadium is nice. Been there once for a Saints, Broncos pre season game which was first game in new stadium. I'd recommend parking at one of the bus pick ups and riding the bus in and out because parking as usual is bad around the stadium. Water's good, food sucks and that's about it.

If any loyal Who Dats are planning on driving to Denver for the game on Oct. 28, and if you have an extra seat in your vehicle, I would like to catch a ride with you there and back in exchange for paying for some of your expenses, such as gas and tolls. I'll be able to pay my own way with food, lodging, etc. I am located in north Louisiana, near Monroe, and am unable to fly for the next few months because of having recent surgery on my ears, as the doc says traveling in a pressurized airline cabin could cause an issue. My daughter lives in Denver and can meet us when we arrive and I'll be with her while we are there. I desperately want to take her to the game as an early Christmas present, but I have to get there first. I'll meet back up with you afterwards at your convenience for the return trip home. If anyone can help me out, please send me a private message with your intinerary and details. Thanks a bunch.

:raises hand:
I have a question!
Looking for a place to stay in Denver. I've made several hotel mistakes in the past on road trips, staying in some really crappy locations. So what neighborhood do I need to stay in to be right in the middle of the action Friday/Saturday night? Bars, music, whatever. A quick google search says to stay in LoDo, but following the recommendation of a quick google search was one of my big mistakes in the past.
I don't mind taking a cab ride to the game Sunday night.
I don't care what the hotel is like, as long as there's a bed for me, another bed for my friend, and nothing else alive hiding anywhere in the room.
Just want a walkable or minimal cab fare distance from whereever the party is :drunk:

Sarcastic you probably want to be somewhere near downtown. Downtown hotels are usually spendy but if you can find a cheap one, go for it. There's a Knight's Inn just off of Speer & I-25. It's a little bit roach but a lot cheaper than the big downtown hotels like Marriott.

I'll second the recommendation for getting a hotel downtown. You don't necessarily have to stay in "LoDo" ( a term used for Lower Downtown, but with loose geographic lines, depending on who you talk to), but anywhere in the Central Business District should be fine.
All the major hotels (Hilton, Hyatt, Mariott, etc.) have a spot downtown, that are easily cab-distance, even a long walk-distance to a tailgate and the stadium. Although they can be pricey, it's probably affordable to split with a friend.
Staying somewhere near or on the 16th Street mall is generally fun - lots of restaurants, bars, (quite a few national franchise joints, some local establishments, quite a few good brew-pubs to get local beer) and a good central location. If you're into hockey, maybe you'll have the chance to catch an Avs game if they're playing that weekend as Pepsi Center is a short walk off the mall.

After doing a little reading, I settled on a Comfort Inn a block away on 17th - and a 4 or 5 dollar cab ride from LoDo, and a 10 dollar ride from the stadium. Just waiting on my buddy to give me the go-ahead, since it's nonrefundable...
For under 500 each for the round-trip flight from MSY and 3 nights hotel, I can't complain.
Thanks for the tips

Forget the cab to LoDo. If you're staying near the 16th St. Mall, there is a free bus shuttle that runs up and down 16th. You can take the shuttle to Larimer, turn left and you're in LoDo. Also Blake St. is a lot of fun (Falling Rock Taphouse for a fantastic beer selection and crappy service).

Great food here, too....and people....and yeah, great beer. My experience has been the complete opposite from marlboro man. I have found the people here much nicer than those in the south.

Between me and my brother working separate phones, we were able to get 4 tix!
An operator at ticketmaster recommended we call about 10 mins ahead of time, engage the operator on some other event for a little bit, then ask about the Saints game tix. As they can only keep you on hold for no more than a minute, it worked like a champ.
Thanks Norfolked! (bro)

Ugh. I did not succeed. By the time I got an operator, there were only single tickets available, and at like 350 a piece. So some dude got me on ticketexchange for 150 a pop for two terrace seats
Oh well, it'll be worth it.
