Drew Brees Coming up Live on CNBC--On now
Could be very soon.
Edit: porbably not taht soon. The host just listed what he's going to talk about, and Brees was about the third or fourth topic.

Yep. I just saw the announcer mention that Brees is coming up soon. Strange to see this on a stock trading show. They said that he is there to talk about concussions and maybe some contract talk as well.
They didn't mention Dick's Sporting Goods, but I'm betting that this is related to the player safety work that he's doing for them. The corporate tie-in would explain why it is on CNBC.

Years ago, Jim Cramer had Jonathan Vilma on his show when he played for the Jets. That's how i found out that Vilma has a degree in Finance.

I'm sure that will eventually be used as indisputable evidence that he was the one who calculated all the cart off and knock out bonus dollars.

Wait. Jim Cramer helped Jon Vilma with a financing system for the PFP program?
When will the madness end?

I love all the out of context comments--sort of like "Pay me my money."

He said pretty much what he said this morning about bountygate and the contract. Brian Sullivan tried to get him to predict whom the Saints would play in the next superbowl. Drew rambled on and on about how he shouldn't be thinking about that. Sullivan, a Chargers fan, thought it was hilarious that he wouldn't answer the question. It was quite a fine interview. Drew Brees is really articulate.

Suggested that the NFL doesn't really have the evidence they say they have and that they had an idea and fit the facts to the idea. Said he hasn't been talking directly to Loomis about the contract but his agent is and expects it will be done soon. When asked if he's even more important than usual without Payton, he said that it's no more important than usual--he's the leader and expects to put his best on the field all the time. Initially, he talked at length about PACE and Dick's Sporting Goods. There wasn't anything surprising in light of his comments this morning, which are on another thread. (I forget what PACE stands for except that "CE" means "concussion education.)

Recap: I'm gonna paraphrase all this...I have it on my DVR.
They asked Drew about the PACE program and mentioned that Dick's Sporting Goods are helping with the program. Drew said the PACE program is giving free concussion test units (software based) to high school and college football players or athletes, something along those lines.
They ask Drew about the bounty program. Drew said the NFL has successfully mixed the words "pay for performance" and "bounty program" or "pay to injure" in the minds of the public. Said that if this was a pay for performance program that the league should call it what it is and deal with it appropriately because many teams at every level of competition have similar programs. They ask Drew if the league has provided enough evidence of pay for injury, and Drew says no. I transcribed a snippet of that conversation:
Interviewer: "Why is it in the league's best interest not to bring that [more bounty evidence] forward?"
Drew: Well, the impression you get, is that when they talk about having it, and then skew public perception towards that, but then can't provide the evidence, is that, maybe there is no evidence and the evidence does not exist, factual evidence that shows that there was indeed a pay to injure program in place. Unfortunately, I think the damage is done.
--Drew says more, but I don't have time to transcribe it all now. He goes on to say that there is a difference between tough talk and things said on the sidelines and a full blown "pay to injure" program.
The interviewer asks if the problems with the team has made him more valuable in contract negotiations. He said that regardless of the problems, he plays a "significant role with the New Orleans Saints" and that this isn't about being the highest paid quarterback, even if that is what his contract makes him.
