Brees should be the MVP. No one will be able to convince me Aaron Rodgers deserves it over Brees.

Agreed, especially after Flynn went and did more than Rodgers did all season with one game against a team playing their hearts out.

Congrats to Drew.
Aaron Rodgers just named NFL MVP, and he did deserve it. This is how it should be.
Two great players.

If Rodgers had as many pass attempts as Drew Brees, he'd have had over 6,000 yards passing. Rodgers had the highest rated season by a QB in NFL history, lead his team to 15-1. +39 TD to INT.
Any other year, Drew Brees would have won it. He was great this year, but Aaron was just a little better.

Na, Aaron Rodgers has nothing in the world on Drew. Sorry bud. Drew doesn't sell out his Pro-Bowl teammates after jogging to hand off the ball to Lesean Mccoy.

sounds like 2008 all over again... Drew had an MVP-type season... another QB ('08 P. Manning... '11 Rodgers) was in the ballpark. Brees got OPOY... but the other QB got the MVP b/c of a better reg. season record (and prob for having a bit better D)

If Rodgers had as many attempts, he would have had more INTS. The award was for MVP. Brees is much, much more valuable to the Saints than Rodgers is to GB. Flynn did fine in his audition, a game Detroit was desperate to win. We would be sunk with Daniel.

I've been one of the biggest critics of how awful the MVP voting in 2009 was, but I don't know how anyone can sit here without being a homer and believe that if Drew was truly the MVP in 2009, then he was also the MVP in 2011.
Yes, Drew had one of the top 5 seasons of all time for a QB this year, but Rodgers had probably the #1 season of all time.
Really the only categories Drew had Aaron beat at this year were total yards (despite Aaron being 9.2 YPA to Drew's 8.3) and completion percentage, but Rodgers was not that far behind. Other than that... Rodgers had more total TDs and just 6 turnovers. He also broke the record for passer rating in a season at 122.5.
Plus his team went 15-1 despite the 32nd ranked defense and 27th ranked rush offense. The Packers really weren't that great this year aside from Rodgers and a few timely takeaways by their defense.

That game was more on their team than Rodgers. Fumbles galore, just like the Saints vs 49ers, plus they had 7 or 8 drops. It also doesn't help when your defense gives up a hail mary TD pass at the end of the first half.
