He seemed upbeat and ready to get back to work in NOLA to win a championship. You dont let people like him leave period. I think he knows that. He aint gonna break the bank cuz he wants to win. Creative accounting and a lot guaranteed? If any modern athele has EVER earned his pay more than DB I sure cant name him.

I was excited to watch, but (meh) snooze fest. Nothing really exciting. he isn't the most electrifying person to be interviewed.

not one of drew's best interviews
i blame this solely on the interviewer (leno) - the questions were lame

I'm pretty sure the way talk show interviews are handled, is that the interviewee gives a list of questions/topics he'll talk about, or the interviewer will give a list of questions/topics and the interviewee approves/disapproves
Basically, the whole thing is staged from the beginning as far as I'm concerned, and if Drew didn't want to talk about a certain topic, then Leno won't ask it or else Brees will never go back to the show.

Leno sucks, so I don't know why everyone was expecting much from it.
Can't wait until Drew's signed. Seriously.

Yeah, my brother worked as a page for Leno for a few years. The way they break them down are as infomercials with funnier jokes. You don't do a talk show just to do a talk show, you do them to sell something. Today Brees was peddling wanting more money/bounty problems/ beefy mac.

Last year Peyton Manning recieved 23 million. This year he was due to recieve 27 million when he was cut from the Colts. He will most likely fetch around 30 million with his new friends. How is paying Drew 23 million per heads & shoulders abover those numbers? Is my calculator broken?

Isn't the Leno show supposed to be comedy TV? Does anybody break up in stiches when they think about bounty gate or Drew being hung with the franchise tag? Leno's not doing an oped or a pre execution interview. He's trying to sell potato chips.

What it is, is a guy getting what is probably his last big money pay day in the NFL. He outperformed his last contract by millions & would like to put himself in the income bracket which he should be in for his last few years. If anybody on here had the talent Brees does, they wouldn't be doing what Brees is doing, they'd be team shopping like Manning is.

Drew would be team shopping like Manning is if he didn't have the tag on him. Even if he had all the intention of re-signing with the Saints over the other teams he'd still team shop simply to justify his contract demands.

Yes. Your calculator is broken along with your head if you think some team is going to give Manning $30 million per. Condon's demands are based off of something that did not happen. Manning was supposed to have averaged $23 million per but since he never saw the $27 million, that means Manning averaged $21 for two years. That is what Brees should get instead of the money Condon is asking for.

I'm not sure, let me try
30 - 27 = 3
30 - 23 = 7
7 + 3 = 10
27 / 10 = 2.7
Manning + 30 =
Nope, it's not your calculator

I have to admit that I am getting tired of Drew's song and dance. It is appearing like it is all about the money.
