Good point. Long and Quinn played well against us. I am hoping Spags brings that same spark to the D. I believe Galette and Wilson will likely develop and excel, along with some other guys, under Spags, more so than: we know who. I like the Hicks pick. Personally, I don't but into the "Hicks is a reach" philosophy. In my eyes there is no such thing as 'a reach' in the 3rd Round and beyond; where ultimately every pick is a gamble in some way or fashion. Some publications had Jimmy Graham listed low than we was drafted, was he a reach too?

Then again, if you look at the payroll from my work you will not find a Flip either.

They wanted to him to play at LSU. He couldn't play because of off the field issues.

Are you sure Mayock meant "he couldn't play at LSU" as "because he couldn't play," or was he just saying "he couldn't play at LSU [because of recruiting violations we can't really mention here]" as artfully as possible?

Huge dude. Everything I hear wrong with him can be coached out of him. Give him some situations and time.

You faced Hicks team twice a year you couldn't bring up names with those jersey numbers you called out.

I think it was more about your approach than it is about your credentials.

ok my take on Hicks. He plays against my favorite College team up here in Canada ( No I'm not a football player, just a fan) so I saw him quite a bit
- did he dominate some games? Yes he was dominate in some... was he was quiet in other games... yes. some games you didn't notice him and it wasn't like they were scheming on him.
- does he have upside? you bet!! You noticed him more than not. He's a project but he has the physical tools to do it. To me its not the physical side of things, but the mental/maturity side that has to grow and I'm sure it will. If the team brings him along, I do think he can really contribute in time. I thought he would be selected in the 3-4 th round.
my 2-bits for what its worth

RAAAAW. Big strong powerful. Stands up straight right away. not fast. Zero pass rushing moves (besides bull rush). Didnt take over a game as much as youd think he would. And the CIS is not an elite level at all.
When i heard this pick. i have never been more disappointed in a draft.
He has a lot of work ahead of him before he sees that field.
Alameda Ta'amu was there Brandon Thompson was there. Boykins. the list goes on...
Heres to hoping the rest of our draft turns around!

I can guarantee this about him! He got further than YOU!
