This is somewhat good news, if only he would be off the Saints all together_after the way he presented his craft during this pay for play scandal, I can only wish.

Scooter was, repeat WAS a very good Saints' reporter. I particularly liked his v-log videos during training camp. But it seems that after he wrote that book, he changed for the worse (albeit gradually).
Now, he has an arrogance and know-it-all approach that turns off most in our fan base. Sorry to see it happen. Again, I really liked the guy-- but now...

So the Times Picayune is putting out help wanted signs a few days after letting go of a couple hundred long term employees, some of which were sport writers?

Dear Jeff Duncan,
Considering the events that have unfolded over the last several weeks and the lack of evidence provided by the NFL, don't you think it's time you apologize to Saints fans and the people of Louisiana? You wrote an artical a few weeks back (it was your last Saints article I believe) that described the people of Louisiana as conspiracy theorists. It was belittling, condescending and frankly pretty rude. You acted as though we have no ability to see the truth and that the NFL obviously has this whole thing right. All we ever wanted was to see the real evidence that supports this attempted destruction of our team. You made a decision at that point to side with the National media and take the commisioner's word for it. It is hard enough to get any support from the national media, but to have our local guys turn on us hurts the most. Rubbing your readers the wrong way might work for the Skip Baylesses of the world but New Orleanians don't take kindly to that approach.
Signed,
A former reader.

I think he should further apologize for writing an article, on the day the 'scandal" broke, where he smugly stated that any penalty would be "just."

This could suggest that not only does Duncan read his reviews from the readers but so do his superiors and it looks like they may have had enough of him for now.
I once had a run in with a nationally known "investigative" reporter and quite frankly some of if not all of those guys seem to think that their stature lends to them some kind of "rock star" status and that's what it appears that Duncan was after.
And just so you know................I was reprimanded for my actions with the "rock star" investigative reporter but he knew his place when it was all said and done.
There could be a reason that we have not heard from Mr. Duncan for a while now. He was learning where his place was.
Maybe this is HIS bounty punishment..................you never know.
I would love to see him apply for press credentials with the Saints right now. He might have the same chance as a gnat in a hurricane.

I'm sure Roger needs someone to bleach and fold his Superman underwear. Duncan should go do that.

I imagine the very day he ran with his "the Saints deserve what they get" piece there was a fax that came to the times pic from the Saints that read something like "please inform your staff writer Jeff Duncan that he will no longer be permitted to interview coaches, staff or players with our consent." How could that not affect his status as a Saints beat writer?
