Kinda telling when you have a poll whether the team or the news organization is telling the truth.
Should you really have to question the news organization? Or shouldn't they be providing the evidence?
Oh damn, you could say the same thing about the bounty garbage, but no one outside New Orleans wants to question the Tyrant Roger.

And they're constantly adding additional reporter comments calling the Saints liars because of the bounty program and that we shouldn't be trusted over a news organization.
Right...... I've got one hell of a bridge to sell these people.

Keep in mind that the controversy involves not just contentions of player "bounties" but of lack of organizational oversight and intentional obstruction of a league investigation. The organization's response was to essentially plead no contest, accept the sanctions imposed, and hunker down.
In contrast to the response to the recent ESPN story, the organization made little public response other than issue short written statements accepting responsibility and expressing some level of contrition. With regard to the charges, the organization did not bring in any new people and did not reassign duties to persons not named in the investigation. Rather, the organization never got ahead of the story and, as stated, hunkered down. In the real world, that is not the way companies handle charges like these.

I know some whodats are in the "we lied, we are guilty we deserve to be punished" team... but count me still in the "show me where my coach lied to cover anything up" group... or the "Payton told Williams to get his **** straight and Williams didn;t listen" group... I dunno how you just assume the negative way of looking at it and consider yourself a Saints fan.

Considering there are not THAT many votes.... I think SR is skewing the numbers a bit being since everyone one of us that reads it will vote "Saints". The numbers are close to 2/3 in favor of the Saints, and 1/3 in favor of ESPN right now. I actually laughed out loud at this ignorant post though:

I believe ESPN. “Outside the Lines” got tipped on a story, investigated it thoroughly -- it was widely known for weeks that the program was poking around on the Saints -- and produced a richly detailed, eye-opening report.
Is there a possibility there could be some inaccuracies? Of course. That’s always the case with news stories. But the notion that this was made up out of thin air? Not buying it.
As for the Saints, they’ve lost the luxury of saying, “Trust us.” After all, they denied any existence of a bounty program to the NFL; then, after flat lying about it, they had the arrogance to keep doing it.
Know this: If it were ESPN or another media outlet that broke the bounty story, and the NFL didn’t have the Saints dead to rights with email evidence and the like, we’d be hearing the same things about the bounties that we are about the latest story -- it’s a conspiracy, and we’re going to sue you for this horrendous fabrication.
|
I laugh at this idiots' perception of what constitutes evidence of a "crime". And what a counts as a "tip off". Here's a hint Mr. Farmer.... Staying in a city for an entire month asking anyone and everyone if they have any dirt on an organization is not a "tip off". That's just reaching for a story in order to kick someone while they're down, and the public is more likely to buy into your baseless story. What a joke.

I just let the saints organization determine my stance. Note how the organization responded to both situations.

If I called them and said I knew you had child porn on your computer, they would look into, whether there was any basis in it or not.

These people should ask GM circa 1992 about NBC's Dateline and their "exploding trucks" about trusting a news program.
