The year my dad died was the first time the saints made the play-offs. I like to think he had something to do with that

My dad passed away in May. He was a season ticket holder from 67-88 when we moved to Buffalo. Going to be strange not having him to talk to about the games.

My dad missed the championship by 1 season. I'd like to think they still keep feelings for things or people they love close to their hearts on the other side and he knew they finally made it. Who Dat!

My dad also passed away the year the Saints won the superbowl. I'm so glad he got to see them finally win the big one man and he was so happy too, knowing he wasn't going to be here much longer and still enjoying every moment. I love you Dad and we all miss you! WhoDat!!!!

gonna be my first season without my father----
he was a lions fan, tossed his dinner plate when dempsey's kick went through the uprights. every monday we'd talk football and he always admired my loyalty during the lean years.
miss you dad.

Mom wasn't a football fan, but she cheered for the Saints because I did.
I miss you, mother. Every. Single. Day.

Countdown To Kickoff
|
I've related several experiences on SaintsReport about my Dad bringing me to games at old Tulane Stadium, and how his love for LSU and Saints football was unmatched. This is obviously the main reason why I am such an avid fan myself.
It's been a year ago this month that he passed, yet I think often about how happy he was to have lived to see the Saints take home a Lombardi trophy!
I'm attaching this YOUNG picture of Dad because he was always a kid at heart.
