More proof that there was no bounty on Favre
Im surprised nobody has mentioned this yet. We have been so busy wondering who said "Hey Bobby pay me the money" that we have overlooked 1 important question to be asked.
Why would Bobby McCray pay anybody money for the sack on Favre? He made the sack! Him and Ayodele hit him simultaneously. If there was a bounty on Favre, both McCray and Ayodele would have gotten paid. Because without McCray hitting him, he woulda never got his ankle rolled backwards on by Ayodele! So this makes absolutely no sense why somebody would yell "Bobby pay me my money."
Even if it was Ayodele saying it, why would he ask Bobby? They both made the hit. They both caused the injury.
Just a thought, and mods you can merge this with the Hargrove thread if you'd like. I apologize if this angle has been discussed already.

Maybe the party me my money was in reference to the late hit as a mental error, therefore McCray would owe money.

But McCray helped to cause the injury. So he shouldnt owe anything. He should get paid.

Do you really think it would be that specific if there was a true bounty on Favre? Do you really think that when GW was handing out the bounty money he said to Bobby "Bobby you have to pay now because you were not the one who rolled on his ankle. You know the rules. You made a good hit i will give you that much... but Ayodele rolled on his ankle. That is what we were looking for. A good clean solid ankle roll is what we preach about. Great job Ayodele. Bobby, pay him right now"

Well, you asked why would anybody ask Bobby to pay up. He pledged 5k.
The same transcribed note said get with Gregg + Joe, so why ask Bobby to pay up when Gregg + Joe is allegedly handling the money would be the better question.

So are you saying that Bobby lost 5k on that hit? Is that what you are saying?

The one thing about Favre that no one is talking about is the beating he took the next season. Remember the hits to the chin and then the arm in the sling causing him to miss the first start of his career? What happened to Favre was not a bounty program, it was having a crappy O-line in front of him. The only thing that those linemen were good for was picking him off the ground.

Plug in your headphones and crank the volume up, "Bobby" and "give me my money" are 2 different voices.
On the "Bobby" section, this is Hargrove acknowledging the hit McCray put on Farve after Vitt says we think Farve has a broken leg.
On the "give me my money" section I would speculate that this is McCray.
NFL investigators dropped the ball on this.

I think it would have been better off if Hargrove admitted to saying this because then you say things like he didnt make the play so its obvious it was a bet or something.

Im only going off of what the NFL is claiming. They claim Hargrove said "Bobby pay me my money". Well this alone has several flaws. 1. Hargrove didnt make the play and 2. Bobby made the play so he shouldnt be paying anybody.

Well, I think the point is -- and Vitt mentioned this and I'm almost sure Florio did, too -- that if they whiffed this bad on this piece of "evidence" that it would be prudent to examine more closely the rest of the evidence. If your credibility is called into question on one thing, it can and should be called into question on the entirety.
We also already know that when that "ledger" was leaked, there were plenty of holes in that, too, and when that was pointed out, it was "corrected" .. which still didn't fit what we know happened in those games.
When you say, Trust me, we have it, and then with our own eyes we view a video where an investigator has claimed "you can see his lips moving" when you clearly can't see anything but Remi Ayodele's big fat head, I can't believe any reasonable person would keep on taking their word that things actually show what they SAY they show. I mean, it's not even a judgment call. You.can.not.see.Hargrove's (or anyone else's for that matter) lips moving.
Of course, the non-discerning out there would say, well, you can't dissect everything, they still have all this other stuff so what's the point? Well, if little Roger would have just handed out punishments more in line with what everyone expected, we wouldn't be. We'd be butt hurt and hunkered down (same with the Star Caps. But for the Williams brothers and the state of Minnesota giving us a glimmer, that whole thing wouldnt' have been discussed to death. It would have been done and over with).
But we wanted answers as to why these punishments were so jaw dropping. Yet we're still waiting for this prima facie smoking gun evidence. Favorite mantra of this board, pics or it didn't happen. Same premise here. Proof that 10K came from Vilma specifically for a hit on Favre to justify a year-long suspension or it.didn't.happen. In fact, I believe everyone who we actually have the name of that has been characterized as having said this or what has come out and categorically DENIED saying what was attributed to them. Not the usual "Oh, I was misquoted" or "it was taken out of context".
Words mean things and I think the NFL is playing fast and loose with people admitting there was P4P and extrapolating to that mean they've cried uncle on the existence of a putting a "bounty" on the head of a specific player for a specific injury. Again, pics or didn't happen. And we all saw the games. Didn't happen.
