N?S Reggie Bush expects to play more at receiver this year
"My role is going to be different, just in the sense that I'll probably be split out wide a little more." Bush told reporters Wednesday via MiamiDolphins.com. "Play a little more receiver. But for the most part, we're still going to run the ball."
The shift in philosophy makes sense. Philbin comes from the Green Bay Packers, where the approach is more aligned with how Sean Payton runs things with the New Orleans Saints rather than how Tony Sparano ran the Dolphins last year. Bush's role ultimately may wind up looking like it used to with the Saints. Reggie Bush expects to play more at receiver this year - NFL.com

GB and NO offense are simular so I can see why that would be something Philbin would exploit with a player like Reggie and Reggie can have some input on how to get the most out of him by what Payton did with him when he was in NO.

It was stupid of them to not use him more as a reciever. Sure he got his 1k yards and all but in a losing effort. Get that guy in space and let him do what he do.

Oh yeah just move the 1,000+ yard rusher with the highest ypc in the NFL to receiver . I see no value in that.

I agree. Last year was his first true sucessful year rushing the ball. I can't think of a reason you wouldn't want to change what worked in the past. Makes more sense, in my opinion, to try and bring in free agent wide recievers to pick up the slack.

If u watched Reggie last season you would know it was a struggle running the ball with him. Sure he broke a few big ones out, but had a whole lot a no gains and negative yard. 1k yard dont mean squat if u cant get 1st downs.
Reggie can rush the ball but he.can also merc u in the slot. Smart move by the coaches.

Can not agree with you on the 1 yard gain; He average over 5 yards per carry.
