NFL Network More Or Less - Says Drew Brees WILL NOT Throw For 5,000 Yards
The talking clowns (I mean heads) have said that Drew Brees WILL NOT throw for 5,000 yards because there is no Sean Payton and Drew has not attended any offseason workouts.
This committee was made up of Marshall Faulk, Warren Sapp, and Ladainian Tomlinson.
I would have thought LT would have Drew's back. Drew had his back on his sushi commercial.

Throwing for 5,000+ yards is no easy task. He could do it, sure. But the odds are actually against him, not because Payton isn't here (I don't see that affecting Brees' play at all), but because it's only been done by a handful of players in the history of the league. Of course Brees IS the only player to have done it more than once.
I think the running game will have more of an effect this season. Grubbs is one of the BEST run blockers in the NFL.

As I've felt all offseason if they mention losing Payton while failing to mention Carmichaels name then they have no credibility and I don't care. And why does that even matter? Brees is on the field playing not Payton.
I could care less what they predict but the thing that struck me as interesting is that LT, who is know to be Drew's close friend indicated Drew may sit out. I doubt it would happen, but you know this has been discussed and you know when LT retired there was a conversation so it was recent.
Wow I think your taking everything from that segment out of context. One they said it would be tough for them without Sean. Two because he has yet to practice or sign a deal so less work in with the team.also its hard to do back to back.even with that being said they all agreed it would be more like 4750_4800 and would not be surprised if he did.
The main guy also mentioned but he is brees does he really need to be at otas and the panel all said he needed to be there. Don't take everything said on espn and nfl so personal. Also on the Sean in dallas his kids do live in dallas at its the summer time so who cares where he is.

No worries here. The less they all know, the better!
I hope Drew wont have to throw for 5000 yds. I really think our D will be better, get more takeaways, and Drew and Co will have shorter fields. I also think in the run game, with a healthy Ingram and Ivory, we will run the ball more and more effectively.
Meanwhile, we still have Drew. And in those games where the D or run game has an "off" day, its good to know we still have #9 who can always pick up things.
Unless it's 0 yard, I'd think <5000 is a good thing. People often forget that too much passing does not help your defense. Balance is the key to win Super Bowl.

and marshall is from NOLA and usually is also for us, so we had the majority, not sure how they got this wrong, but i do agree, carmichael will run more than sean.
