This is so, so true! Good music never gets old, so I wouldn't mind if something from AC/DC, Metallica (up until the "Black album") or Pantera comes out of the speakers. Moreover I've always thought that metal/rock songs are the best suited for sport events like an American football game.

I think crunk is still useful, but I can understand if it's time to move on.
My vote would be more local music. Dr John has a huge selection to choose from; surely something appropriate from him would work.

Not saying Limp Bizkit is a good band or makes good music, but I'd wanna cut myself if I was forced to listen to an entire set by Pantera or Down or another band of that genre. I have friends who're huge metal fans, and I have a very diverse range of music that I enjoy, but I could never tolerate metal of any kind when they'd play it for me even in high school when my taste in everything was at its worse. Most every song I've heard from bands like that sounds so similar to their others and just sounded like noise (like a darker but just as loud and annoying form of dubstep now that I think about it). Sure there are slight differences to each of them, and some songs are slower/faster, but if you asked someone to describe how a song went they'd probably make the same noises for 90% of the songs.

Older Metallica is good and isn't like anything out now, so there's no reason to compare it, but System of a Down is the only band any bit related to that genre that I can listen to bc they're songs and albums are very diverse and don't all sound the same (which is why they weren't used in my little study). You know what band you're listening to when they're on - the same just can't be said for other bands in that genre, and I've proved that that genre of music's bands' sounds are very similar w groups of friends. (It's not the first little experiment I've posted about - I also got controversial results after the Zimmerman trial and shared them here (I think) - I took/take a lot of statistics related courses requiring me to create and conduct small experiments and surveys to be done in public so that the statistical I info gathered can be studied and made sense of.)

I had 4 friends collectively give me 5 albums from diff bands they liked in what they considered the same genre and had them mark their favorite songs. I eliminated those bc they'd instantly be recognized and just listened to the others they didn't mark as favorites or most listens to. Of the ones I listened to, I picked one song from each band (I should have done two jic the song I chose was instantly recognized but oh we'll) and played a 5 second sound clip w no vocals. The singers vocals are by far the most distinguishable feature I could tell which is why I chose to not include that and bc my friends seemed to enjoy the long stretches of music more than the actual singing/screaming. I wish I still had the songs I chose (Mastadon was one band I do remember that solely bc they're called Mastadon) but idk where that journal ended up. I just had the stat chart saved on my computer.

The average amount gotten correct was only 40% (1,2,3,2,2) and about 1/3 of those correct answers were gotten bc they recognized the song. Now I'm not saying you should like that form of music any more or less bc songs by diff bands sound very similar, I'm just sayin don't argue that point that they don't lol.

I seem to recall that they save "Crunk" for the regular season.

But....if they were to change songs, "Hurrican Season" is so obviously a worthy replacement that it likely won't happen.

It has everything you want in a hype song in the Dome: groovy New Orleans vibe, uptempo danceable beat, rock undertones, that call-and-response middle part that would be great in a stadium setting, and a song title that reminds us where we came from.

It universally appeals to lovers of all American genres: hip hop, jazz, brass, rock, R&B.
