Patriots are a class act

I really never liked Billichick and the Pats, but these past 2 days, I've come around just like I and many of you have come around to Florio.

They are a classy organization and I'm sure the Saints appreciated the gestures both before and after practices.

From PFT:

Pats incorporate Sean Payton video into practices with Saints
Quote:
Sean Payton and Bill Belichick have a lot in common. They both own Super Bowl rings. They both call Bill Parcells a mentor. (They’ve both likely at some point called Parcells something more profane than “mentor” under their breath.)

Except for them pulling Brady out with 6 minutes left to go while getting blown out, I'd agree with you. If they were on the other end of the blowout, Brady would have been slinging 60 yarders trying to pad his stats....

That's pretty awesome of them. That's a hundred times more classy than the 49ers playing Rock You Like A Hurricane several times over the stadium sound system. I've always respected Brady and Bellichick, but this has garnered a whole new respect for them.

Which is part of why I said I used to not like them, but am turning a new leaf. And honestly, I can't stand the Jets and Dolphins so I forced to give the Pats some love each year anyway.

That game was out of hand. Coach did exactly what he should have done. And to suggest that he'd pad his stats if it was the other way around is speculative.

Think about the beating the Colts took last year. Think about Drew.

I suspect Drew would have been just as angry as Tom looked getting pulled if the tables had been turned and we getting flogged and coach pulled him.

At any rate, I never saw any fault in pulling Tom that night. I actually took it happily; as it represented capitulation. They laid down to a superior foe. What's not to like about that?

Of course by pulling him like that Bill deprived someone of a chance to have him knocked out of the game instead thereby reducing their prospective bounty payment.... sarcasm off

They would not have done this without getting Bob Kraft's OK first.

So we have Benson putting up the "Do your Job" picture and now Kraft showing the video and playing the music.

I think that it sends a not so subtle message to Goodell from the owners to make it right.

We need to send some "Free Sean Payton" shirts to Rooney & Mara.

Love'em or hate'em, their success on the field can not be denied. And I think that all starts at the top of the organization, and makes it way throughout. Dont like them, but I respect them. Heck, they were the first team to get hit with, and overcome a "scandal".

They pull Brady in the 4th quarter of blowouts all the time. Stop believing everything ESPN tells you.

Thanks for this post.

Wow, but what a miss by the New Orleans press (unless, in oversight, I did not see it). How do they miss this angle?

No message was sent to Goodell by Kraft, who has as much stroke with Goodell as any other owner in the league. If Bob Kraft wanted to send a message, he just had to pick up the telephone.

If Kraft had as much pull as you seem to think Spygate would have been buried.

Nah you're just saying that over the practices j/k

Not 100% sure but I do think they did practices together going into pre-season back in 2010.

Not a Pats fan but hats off to them!

it kinda was though. tapes destroyed, fines, loss of draft picks, no suspensions...

if they would've handled the Saints this way there wouldnt be as much drama right now.
