Perfect opener
I don't think we could ask for a better opening game this year. RG3 coming into the Dome in his 1st pro start ever. The crowd is gonna absolutely crush him! He won't know what to think about when he has 70,000 Who Dats screaming at the top of their lungs everytime he tries to make a call in the huddle, muchless an audible! This one could get ugly!!

We thought that a few years back and the Skins upset us. For some reason we always struggle against them. Even in 2009.
Same thing with the Rams.

This is true. Just as we always destroy the Giants, we always struggle against the Skins. I think we pummel them this time though.

Honestly, I am just hoping that his superman costume stays in the suitcase until game two. I saw this guy play, and thank goodness we will play him first, instead of the second half of the season. We have a better team, but RGIII is going to give the NFCE hell, seriously. We are catching him at the right time, when he has not fully seen the speed of the game. When he catches up...

I hope we crush RG3 just like we crushed Troy Aikman in his first professional start!

It seems like the last few years we've struggled against new QBs... hopefully that was just a result of Gregg Williams' tendency to overblitz, when really all he needed to do with a new QB was sit back in coverage because the speed of the game was already enough to fluster the QB.
Also, don't forget that Griffin III played in the Big 12 and started for 4 years, so he's played at Texas, at A&M, at Nebraska... we're gonna have to be loud as hell to rattle him, but if there's anybody that can do it it's the Who Dat Nation!

It will be similiar to when Matthew Stafford started his first game in the Dome in '09. I fully expect this season to start - and finish - in exactly the same fashion.

In 2009 we were an 11-0 team going against a clearly inferior team. In the case of the Rams, we were coming off a 62-7 win over the Colts. Complacency was undoubtedly a factor. Right now, we are a POed team that is chomping at the bit to make a statement to the rest of the league in our first game. This game won't be pretty for the Redskins.

I couldn't agree more with that. I do expect a win but it's not going to be easy, never is. People under estimate the Rams so much too, I think 2010 is one of the rare moments we have blown them out since dating back to the 90's, ugh they always beat us up and down in the NFC West.

You are forgetting a number of things.
We were undefeated and went into St. Louis and almost lost to Marc Bulger who sucked that year, yet he looked like old Bulger against our Super Bowl defense, and the game came down to the last minute.
In 2007 against our old coach, a WINLESS Rams team beat us and of course Bulger again looked real good against us.
I can also go back to before the Payton era where the Rams would either blow us out or gave us a tough game. They are the one team over time, division rival or not that always given us bad luck against them. Even in the one blow out game against them in 2010, we looked like crap with our turnovers. Had an experienced QB been in that game, it probably would have been a lot tougher, cause our offense looked like crap.

I was thinking about Safford and Aikman's first games at the Dome. Anyone wanna pull their stats up in those games? I would but I'm on my phone.

Good point about having played in those tough environments. And while I think the Dome is a lot louder and more intimidating for opponents, he will have had experience in tough road environments.
But also don't forget, he DID play in the Big 12 where they don't play defense. Most of the Big 12 teams are all based on gimmicky spread offenses and give up points defensively as fast as they score them. Look at some of the scores from the Big 12 and at their defensive rankings. One of the reasons that Cam Newton did so well last year, besides the fact that he seems to be very talented, is that he faced SEC defenses every week. Going against the defenses of LSU, Alabama, Florida, etc is a lot different than going against the defenses of Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, etc.
I think that the Dome field advantage and this being the first time facing a "real" defense will make for a long day for RGIII.

If we let Griffin III out of the pocket and allow him to extend some drives with his legs, it will make the home crowd weary and could lead to a more low-scoring affair.
Also, Mike Shanahan is a good coach, so I expect the Skins to be outmatched, but definetly ready to play.
