Leigh Torrence is currently a FA, but I think we'll bring him back on another one year deal or some other vet for cheap to be the dime back closer to TC.
Torrence won't be brought back, he was purely a GW guy. Heck, he even lost his job to Patrick by the end of the year. You can expect some other FA vet to be brought in as a dime back but it won't be Torrence.

Two guys that's played under Spags that are FA's..Justin King and Roderick Hood. They wouldn't be bad options as the dime back considering both have been starters throughout their careers. They played well last year so I'm surprised neither has been scooped up yet.
As terrible as StL's run D was last year, they were ranked 7th in pass defense, even though I'm not sure if it's more to do with their play or offenses taking advantage of their weakness against the run very often. Still, being ranked in the top 10 is a plus considering their secondary was hit hard with injuries throughout the season and the talent dropoff in that area for them compared to our guys. We'll have a whole different look on D under Spags.
I remember us being interested in Hood a few offseasons ago, IIRC. He also has versatility to play FS.
Brooks, cornerback, LSU. A 4.3, 40. Great nickel. A return specialist and could develop into a starter. Played great in relief of suspended corner when called upon. 3rd round Saints selection. Possible 4th.
Greer and Robinson are obviously our starting CBs, and JOhnny Patrick will step into the nickel, where he will excell. That kid's a player. He will be around the ball all day long.

Torrence looked awful last year. He was getting abused by Douglas during the Falcons game and looked like he was lost the times he was on the field
They prolly won't be around when the Saints pick, but if they can go Ladarius Green in the third and Bill Bentley in the fourth, it would be a good draft. But the 3 and the 4 will be on the edge of when the two are available. And you'll be lockng up this part if the state from a fan perspective.
Yeah, I'm being a UL homer but these two can play.
I agree with Ladarius Green as one of our picks and stated in another post. Ladarius Green has that 4.5 speed for a receiving TE, and great hands very similar to Colston.
Torrence is a FA and is one of Gregg Williams guys that he brought here. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go, although, I think he is an experienced vet that I wouldn't mind having around.
And to the OP, the fact that you did not know Patrick Robinson was starting over Porter at times last year shocks me.

I think Johnny Patrick is going to be a real good nickel corner for us, what little we seen from him last year the guy is a straight up baller.
Yup!
& more.. JP reminds me of PR.. feed him just enough during the first year or two then cut
him loose.. I think ultimately (post Jabari) PR will be #1 & JP #2.. from there Torrence
more than likely becomes the nickel, and as stated the Saints will probably draft a couple
more DB's between this year and next for depth and the future.. Nice to know that the
Saints have made some quality picks to allow the young guys to eventually move into
starting spots.. sure is a long way from Tyrone Drakeford and Alex Molden.. LoL.
