Signing LOFTON one of the best offseason moves!
Lofton has really impressed! Every play it doesn't matter what side it run to, Lofton is always next to play! The series with Brady where he came out of nowhere and leveled the RB was great and saved a big gain. The fumble recovery from abrady sack is a result of always being around the ball.
Think about last season and how many times balls were on the ground or knocked loose yet the other team recovered, that will be different with Lofton.
As for his lack of 3rd down play and pass coverage, he has already defended 3 passes in just the little time he has played.
Lucky we made this signing because without Vilma or with a hurt Vilma, we would be in big trouble at MLB without Lofton!

It is a double good move as it took a large part of the Falcons defense away as well.
The Falcons already released his first scheduled replacement with a torn muscle (Tatupu) and their second year player (Dent) and expected starting mlb left the game tonight with a concussion.
They are going to be soft up the middle all year.

Wow, Dent left with a concussion!? That has to be worrisome for Falcon fans. It was funny this past weekend, I went to Falcons board to see their perspective on our HOF game and many admitted that Lofton looked good, but the majority just reassured each other how bad Lofton was, and how he can't cover, and how great it is he is our MLB because the Falcons can pass up the middle every play. I guess we will see in a few months how that works for them!
Wonder if Lofton put a Voodoo curse on the Falcons MLB position!?

Ive seen enough to want to sit him down the rest of the preseason!
He's alot better sideline to sidline than I thought. He can cover in pass D better than I thought. I knew he could play and tackle against the run, but when he does, the man has decleated the RB nearly every time!!!

Lofton was a hog tonight. shooting gaps and pounding ball carriers. Dude will make a huge difference in our defense.

lofton is a stud. people often criticize his pass defense but when you're so good at stuffing the run, it kinda makes everything else you do look sub par but its really not.
this guy is going to lay some wood this season

He reminds me of Vilma a few years back, always seems to be near the ball. And best of all we took him away from the Failcons..

To be fair, Lofton lost weight and worked on his speed this off season. That should help him in coverage.
This was a double win for us. Added quality to our LB corp and hurt the Falcons LB corp. Very, very cool move.
