it is that time again - Got my NFL Sunday Ticket for $148
I talked to a representative in Special Packages? (not 100% sure about the name) who gave me a 50% discount. I thought i would pass it on.
I also asked for the special loyal Saints fan Misery Discount but could not get it because i live in GA. She said if I had been a loyal Falcons fan I could have got the Falcons misery discount. However, I got somewhat nauseous when she mentioned the Falcons and just stayed with the original plan. (Humor for those who don't recognize it)

For anyone interested, there have been some changes this year.
Standard fee for NFL Sunday Ticket is now $200. They dropped it considerably.
NFL Sunday Ticket Max is $300. That must be what you got your 50% off on. The difference is that Max also includes shortcuts, feeds to your computer/tablet/etc. & the Red Zone Channel. HD games are now standard and available on both packages.
I didn't need any of that on Max, and I bargained a bit as well. I didn't get anything off of Sunday Ticket, but I got $600 worth of free and discounted programming over the next 2 years. That was even better for me as the discounts/freebies were on programming that I already had.

I signed up for the standard price when I first saw the commercial. I also got free HD for life and they offered me a free HD DVR for my second TV (I had to pay $15 for shipping). I've had the Sunday Ticket for over 10 years now. Before I renew I always call and manage to get something from them.
Not this year. NFL wont get $0.01 from this bounty Hunter.
Things like this seem ridiculous to me. I'm not going to inconvience myself and compromise my fun and hobbies to show someone else who's boss.
For those of you who don't have the sunday ticket, get it! I had it last year and it absolutely made my football season (well, as much as possible w/o the Saints in the Superbowl).
!WhoDat!
P.s. don't tell DTV that they accidentally gave it to me FREE AGAIN THIS YEAR!!
screw 'em.. go through this every year. always regret it. This year, if the saints game doesn't show on t.v. the one or two times a year that might happen here in Shreveport.. we're just gonna go find the best Saints hang out for game time and watch the game that way. Seriously trying to knock down the price of my DirecTV.. but will probably end up trashing the whole thing sooner than later.

Thanks. It looks like they were going to auto-renew me with the Max package, but I don't need those extras so I will be calling to change it and try and get any credits. But I'm not interested in being tied into them for 2 years for any credits. I'm almost up in October and will not get tied to them again.

Understood. I don't like being tied to anyone like that either. But up here we only have 2 choices - DTV or Dish (no cable, no over the air) and with no Saints games telecast (Cowgirl & Pony country) except for national games, I NEED Sunday Ticket. So, no real choice and being tied to them makes no diff. from that perspective since I have to use them anyway. So if I'm going to have DTV, then getting it as cheap as possible is a very good thing.
We should rename this thread, the DirecTV Sunday NFL Ticket Bounty thread.
I'll call them in a day or two and see what sort of bounty......errrr... deal I can get.
