Vitt on replacement refs
I know there's a lot of love on SR concerning Vitt, but I can't help but be drawn like a moth to a fire whenever I see someone quoting him.
IMO, the only reason this guy isn't a HC somewhere is because he likes his position here.
Quote:
Assistant Head Coach Joe Vitt today when asked about playing with replacement refs:
“My thoughts are that we’re going to play the hand we’re dealt. Over the years that we’ve been here, we’re the sixth least penalized team in the National Football League. We feel like we have a great rapport with the league officials and we have great respect for them and their body of work. It’s not easy what they do. We will treat these officials with the same respect that we’ve treated other officials with. It does no good to argue and complain and disrespect them. It’s not going to get a call turned back. We have to worry about our job, play hard, play fast and that’s what we’ll do. That’s been our protocol here.”

Great response. With what we've been through this offseason, it would seem like fighting a losing battle to argue with them.

After the first game, are we gonna hear (about some player) "He's got a ref"?

Seeing the post title I got worried. Great response by Coach Vitt. We've got smart people all around.

No the correct Translation: how can we be accused of a bounty program when we haven't been penalized for those types of plays?

I have a feeling Vitt will be getting a few phone calls from GMs if we make the playoffs this year.

The more and more I hear Vitt the more confidence I feel in him leading this team this season.

it was a fantastic quote. on multiple fronts. it hit the nfl, it supported the refs... love it.
one distinction to keep in mind is that the nfl referees dont like goodell one bit either. to say that they will be harsh on us for our issues with goodell might turn out to be wrong. an enemy of an enemy is a friend after all.

R U talking bout the REGULAR Refs who WON'T BE CALLING THE GAMES???
Cuz I suspect the REPLACEMENT refs will be glad to kiss Goddell's ring...
