You think we need motivation!? Heck no we don't_as much as Williams motivated our D, they are gonna be that much if not even more crunk this season!
goodfail took a lot of precious things from The Who Dat Nation, but he gave us a great gift and he didn't even know it! I'm past looking down and wondering what's gonna happen! Are you kidding me? I know what's gonna happen_this is our Saints we're talking about!
Take a look back from 06 to now, that tells me all I need to know! Shame on me for looking down, doubting, worrying, and feeling abused by goodfail! You realize how close pre-season is, not to mention our home opener!? I know Brees is gonna sign his deal soon, I will worry no more! What was our motto a little while ago, it was FAITH themed wasn't it?
Despite major setbacks from goodfail we are sitting pretty in the freaking drivers seat, an us against everyone else mentality, a thirst for retribution and vindication, a freaking corner stone on our shoulders, and my God_the game of game's to be played in our beloved Superdome!!!!! You know what silences critics? Victory! Our on the field actions this year will be more superior than anything they can do to us through the media or goodfail.
Pick your head up Who Dat's! Hold it high brothers and sisters because you alone are THE best fans in the whole wide world! Every coach, player, and person that has had the opportunity to spend time here knows this! This is gonna be the most anticipated and greatest season we have ever known, and it came from the black and gold lining of the clouds of doubt.
It is failure turned inside out incarnate, and I for one am FREAKIN CRUNK! Let's do this, grab your Saints gear, put your helmet's on, get your grill ready, set aside some materials that you don't mind demolishing in your righteous fervor that is assured to swell up in your soul when our beloved Saints take that field in September, and bring it on home baby!!!!
This is New Orleans! Win! Again! Win! Again! Win! Again! Ahhhhhh!!!
I agree with Viz. Losing our coach is huge. There are a lot of decisions to be made as far as personnel changes, signings, who goes on the practice squad and who is cut that would likely be a lot different if Payton was here to give his insight. I believe that is one place where we will miss him the most. Losing your head coach is huge. Carmichael sp. Spags, and Vitt will have to take care of not only their positions but have the burden of head coaching to think about when it comes to games. This is something they are not used to, the big picture. The Brees deal is not helping the situation either. These young guys need his leadership and need to gain his trust going into the season.

While reading your post, I imagined it was being spoken by Bobby Hebert and in made me laugh out loud.
I think losing Brees is huge. Coach not so much. Look at Barry Switzer with the cowgirls. If you have built a great team then you can survive and in a qb driven league we have the best.
Look at the top NFL teams and look at QB play or defense.
Last year playoffs.
Texans, Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, Broncos, Bengals
Payton hurts us in the offensive play design game planning. Payton had no control on defense only offense. I think Spags is an upgrade. I think with a top 10 offense and an improved defense we can go all the way. Plus Paytron being hurt last year showed us how to adapt. Remember when Payton had the crutches and started calling plays. He is a great play caller but I think Carmichael has learned from him well. Brees + Carmichael almost equals Payton. We will be fine. The defense is where all the concern will be. Our defense will be very good.

Anyone who really believes that Brees will not be on the field on opening day has issues that need attention.
Both sides know that a deal will get done whether it's 5 minutes from now or 25 days from now. Where else is Brees going to go and plug into a team like he has right now at this stage of his career. Everyone gives credit to Sean Payton for the Saints success and deservedly so.
But a huge amount of credit has to go to Brees and Pete Carmichael. After all wasn't Carmichael the QB coach in San Diego for 3 seasons? Didn't he come to New Orleans with Brees?
As far as the offense goes there is no doubt that Brees and Carmichael are on the same page and have been for almost 10 years now.
With what should be a vastly improved defense this team is gonna be just fine. I watched my first NFL game in 1963 as a child and I've been hooked ever since. This is just as great a team as I have ever seen.
Is it going to be easy?...............not by a longshot.
But this is the kind of team that can overcome the obstackles in their path.
Don't worry little buckaroos.....................things will be just fine in Black and Gold land.
We are loaded to the heavens with motivation. My only concern with the Saints this year is that we get beat by the refs.I feel that flags are gonna fly against our d this year with most coming at critical points in the game costing us a couple wins this year. Maybe it's my own paranoia but this has bothered me the only thing that is consoling is the fact that this team does not and will not die. There is no"head" to cut off because if you do ten more sprout.
I agree with an item saw from nfl.com a few days ago. This team will be playing with a ginormous chip on its shoulder. Drew will sign in July, after his agent learns about the whole third tag thing. The offense may start a bit rusty, particularly during preseason, but it's gonna round into form. Heck, the D last year never did. After the Rams debacle, I had doubts about the rest of the season. Instead, we ran the table to end the regular season. Wouldn't have guessed that at midseason last year. It's going to be fine, fellow Who Dats. Yeah, the refs might call some ticky-tack ones on our D but that's every year now anyway. We are still best team in this division. Come playoff time, we'll march. And march well. Stay thirsty, my friends
