New Orleans Pick - for Shoepick and it has a basketball meaning.
If you wanted to add the Jazz Heritage make it New Orleans Pick & Roll - with the "Roll" for Jelly Roll Morton one of the Jazz pioneers.

With all due to respect to Memphis, southern Louisiana and southern Mississippi have a fine history and heritage in Blues... it's just a suggestion and YES... New Orleans is in the Delta... I'm not sure where you learned that you weren't.

"Mississippi Delta
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Mississippi Delta is the distinctive northwest section of the U.S. state of Mississippi that lies between the Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers. The region has been called "The Most Southern Place on Earth"[1] because of its unique racial, cultural, and economic history. It was one of the richest cotton growing areas and, before the American Civil War (1861-1865), attracted many wealthy planters and their attendant black slaves. The region remains heavily African-American, and is economically poor. It has a musical tradition that includes much of modern blues and jazz. It has often been subject to heavy flooding from the Mississippi, notably during the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and the floods of 2011."
Mississippi Delta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New Orleans is the home and "Birthplace of Jazz." While Blues is played and has been played in New Orleans for a long time, Blues is more associated with Memphis and the Mississippi Delta. Why choose something that we are more tagentially related to when we can choose something like Brass which is related to something unique to New Orleans?
And, in the end, even if I were wrong that we are in the Mississippi Delta, Delta Blues are clearly associated with the area of Mississippi known as The Delta. Plus, there are already the St. Louis Blues in the NHL.

You are referring to a region in Mississippi... I'm referring to the actual Delta on which New Orleans is ported and is one of the last major population and business centers...
per Wiki... The Mississippi River Delta is the modern area of land (the river delta) built up by alluvium deposited by the Mississippi River as it slows down and enters the Gulf of Mexico. The deltaic process has, over the past 5,000 years, caused the coastline of south Louisiana to advance gulfward from 15 to 50 miles (24 to 80 km).
It is a biologically significant region, comprising 3 million acres (12,000 km˛) of coastal wetlands and 40% of the salt marsh in the contiguous United States. It is also a commercially significant region, supporting the economy of New Orleans with significant shipping traffic, providing 16 to 18% of the oil supply in the U.S., and providing 16% of the fisheries harvest in the U.S., including shrimp, crabs, and crayfish.
The Mississippi River Delta is not to be confused with the Mississippi Delta region, an alluvial plain located some 300 miles (480 km) northward in western Mississippi along the river

And I know there's another professional franchise that uses Blues but not Delta Blues

When people talk about "Delta Blues", they are talking about music from that region of Mississippi. And, when people say they live in "The Delta", they mean that part of Mississippi. They do not mean New Orleans. Plus, in legend, that area is where the "Crossroads" are. So, I just don't think "Delta Blues" has anything to do with New Orleans. People from New Orleans and the metro area do not identify themselves with the Delta or with Blues. They identify with Jazz, Brass or Funk. Of course, Jazz is taken and Funk would sound bad. So, if we want to go with a musical theme, Brass makes the most sense. It's similar to Jazz so it has the same feel and it's very New Orleans, especially with the "Re-Birth" of Brass Bands in New Orleans that started a little before Katrina and boomed afterwards.
Besides, New Orleans isn't about the Blues. We don't revel in our misery. We find any excuse to celebrate so we can forget the bad times. i.e. the City that Care forgot or, alternatively, the City that Forgot to Care.
So, I like Brass. But, I also like VooDoo and Privateers. All three have deep historical connections to New Orleans that "Delta Blues" do not.

That's a possibility, but I wonder if anyone not from LA would ever get it? BTW, that was the name of Baton Rouge's minor league hockey team.
