No big deal. It's not unusual for opposing fans to to show their nervousness by hating on the best talent of their opponents. So it goes for Crosby and the Sedins.

I understand the trash talk but come on? If you can't recognize they're extremely talented at hockey then you're not fully understanding the sport. That includes Crosby too (even though I like Ovie more).
It's akin to saying Lebron or Kobe aren't good basketball players just because you don't like them or their respective teams, or like a falcons fan saying Brees really isn't that good, I mean you have to be pretty stupid to legitimately believe that.
Calling them chokes (something one could also call Lebron) would be a semi-legitimate argument although I'd disagree regarding this specific series, Luongo for all the praise he got in the first two games let in too many goals and not having D. Sedin fit and firing cost the Canucks.
For what it's worth though I think they're (the Sedins) are more talented at soccer than golf.

You need a sense of hee haw to cheer for the Flyers given their roster of goalies for the past 10 or so years.

I don't make fun of the Sedins, I think they're very talented. Personally, I think the "Sedin sisters" stuff is immature, sexist, and old. But, boys will be boys, and when you see newspaper photo captions that say "The Sedins share a love of horses", what do they expect? It's the crap that is pulled by Kesler, Burrows, et al that makes me hate the Canucks. Oh, and waving white towels is pretty much the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
As for my team, I'd rather they be perennial bottom dwellers than play a style of "hockey" that is admonished by 29 other fan bases. And no, it's not because the other fan bases are jealous. The practice of diving/embellishing to earn power plays is trash hockey, and if last year's finals/this year's first round is any indication, the jig is up. The league isn't having it. I've lost a lot of respect for Brad Marchand for pulling the same stunts this year.
You can win all of the regular season games you want, but tough hockey starts in April. That's why the Canucks lost, it wasn't just a "hot goalie", Vezina nominations don't go to hot goalies. It's because Darryl Sutter coaches tough hockey, and the Kings are a tough hockey team that outskated, outhustled, and outhit the Canucks. Add that to officials that weren't buying the Canucks antics and you have the recipe for an upset of a team that was looking ahead.

You make some valid points and I give you credit for sticking with your team through thick and thin. Don't know if you know the history of the white towel waiving in Vancouver. It was started by Roger Neilson in a playoff series in the early 80s I believe when he put a white towel on the end of a hockey stick and waived it at the referees in a gesture of mock surrender for what he felt were unjust penalties called on the Canucks.
So partly as a tribute to Roger who passed away at 60 due to cancer and partly to stir emotional support for the team, it continues.
It seems to be a common thing at sporting events, established firmly by the Terrible Towels of the Steelers.

Nice work, voodoo!
Semifinal picks:
NJD vs. PHI - Flyers in 6
WAS vs. NYR - Rangers in 7
PHO vs. NSH - Predators in 6
STL vs. LAK - Kings in 4 (Hey, it worked last time!)
BCSaint, I did not recall the historical aspect of the Canucks and the white towel. But now that you mention it, I do remember seeing the video. Of course I'm aware of towel waving at sporting events, but as you stated, white is a sign of surrender. That was my issue.

Well you enjoy watching our Hee Haw goaltending the rest of the way while Luongo is at home packing his bags for Tampa. All thanks to your fan base and organization for running him out of that hell hole of a franchise. Can't wait to watch Canuck fans realize how much he actually meant to that team.

Thanks Meaux!
Let's see for this round.
Philly/NJD
I'm going just say it. Flyers in 4. I just don't think the Devils match up very well with what the Flyers are putting on the ice in this playoff's so far. The Devils lack the fire power to go up and down the ice with the much more talented Philly offense. And yeah they have Brodeur...big deal. If Bryz is half as good as we think he is, that should be enough to win this series.
NYR/WSH
WSH in 7. The Rangers can't keep playing this poorly or it's gonna catch up to them. They squeaked by Ottawa, but are going to have to play a lot better against the Caps. I think Holtby has at least one more series in him before possibly fizzling out.
NSH/PHX
NSH in 6. Nashville may very well the best team left in the playoffs. Not to mention they have the best goal tender in the league.
LAK/STL
LAK in 6. I really like what the Kings did in the first round. I think if they play the same system as they did against Vancouver, they advanced to the Conference Finals. Plus I'm still not entirely sold on the Blues like most people are.

You're seriously going to defend the goalies the Flyers have invested in for the last 10 years? They'd be better off dressing a pylon (same team colours) in goalie gear and saving their cap money for some defense. Wail til this years crop of bums flake out and the Flyers exit the playoffs earlier than their fans expect. I mean they sure looked good in that 10 - 3 squeaker against the Penguins.
and btw who's lacking a sense of humour now, mr. touchy

I have nothing to be touchy about. My team is still playing, yours isn't. So no matter what you say it just looks ridiculous. And when did I ever defend anything the Flyers have done in regards to goal tending? I actually will call out my team for stupid moves and not make a world-class player on the team a scapegoat.
And to me the verdict is still out on Bryzgalov. I don't care what goalie you put in that Philly/Pitt series there's not one in the world that would have come out of it with stellar numbers.
Oh and unlike Canuk fans, us Flyers fan's never "expect" to go far. Sure we hope we will, but we don't fall into a false sense of "oh my freakin' goodness we are so great, no one is gonna beat us, we got 110+ points this year, that must mean we are gonna win a cup."

In reality I think most fans would agree that out of the 8 teams remaining, the Flyers have the most question marks at goaltending.

I don't know where you get your information on what or how the Canucks organization and fans think but most of your inferences are based on nothing more than supposition. You're not using many facts to support your biases.
Lastly if you think that because your team is still in the playoffs and someone else's isn't, that makes you more hockey knowledgeable and more superior then I can only imagine how much smarter and more important you will become with every game the Flyers win.

I know that the fans have used Luongo as a scapegoat as to why they can't get the complete job done. Am I wrong? He is clearly the whipping boy or should I say "was" the whipping boy up there.
And when did I say I'm more knowledgeable because my team is further in the playoffs? I just pointed out that trash talking or whatever it is you are doing about the Flyers is ridiculous right now because they are still in it and the Canucks are not. So please tell me where I said that?
I'm sorry but you clearly are the worst at whatever it is that you are doing right now. I don't even know what to call it. Is it trash talking? Or just rambling non-sense.
