"In 1999, Bechtel corporation signed a contract with the president of Bolivia to privatize the water supply in the 3rd-largest city, and shortly thereafter tripled the water rates (source - new window). Yeah, that's right, they tripled the rates in real life... so when the bad guy in James Bond threatens to double the rates, it's like the producers are challenging you to give less of a ****. They took a non-interesting real-life story and somehow made it less interesting than real life"
Agreed. Daniel Craig should be Bond for a very very very long time. He might (emphasis on MIGHT) be better than Connery.
I know that might be considered blasphemy in some circles, but I don't think it's crazy. If he puts out another couple Bond films on the level of Casino Royale, I think it'll be an honest debate. In my opinion, he's been that good in his portrayal of the character.
I can't overstate how perfect that shot of Bond jumping onto the collapsing train and then straightening his cufflinks is. Honestly, if that were the only thing they had released as a promo I'd still be chomping at the bit to see this.
Quantum of Solace was a damn good movie. Yes, not quite as masterful of Casino Royale, but I never understood why some called it a disappointment.
I definitely agree that it wasn't a bad movie. I just think it suffered a bit because of the inevitable comparison to Casino Royale, which was SO good. Quantum had some great moments and overall it was a pretty good Bond movie, but it just felt a little unfocused at times. I also like the idea of an international group/conspiracy that spans multiple movies, but Quantum itself supposedly won't be a part of Skyfall at all...I sort of think a plot point like that is better suited for a trilogy-style Bourne-type series, as opposed to Bond, who can go on and on and on. I think if they bring the Quantum organization back in a future movie, they've got to deal with it and bring an end to it in that movie. It's not good for continuity to have a major plot thread like that in every other movie.

Definitely agree with that. I think people love him as Bond alot more now that he's made two good Bond films, will star in another that looks to be one of the best in the canon, and he's shown his acting chops in others (Girl w/ Dragon Tattoo).
