Craig signed a contract to do 5 more Bond films at the end of last year. That will give him more Bond films under his belt than any other actor when he's done. I predict by the end of his run he will have replaced Connery in people's mind as 'the" definitive Bond.
As to Quantum I almost feel like they should leave them alone until Craigs last film then have a final showdown.

Saw SkyFall last night and I'm not going to claim its the best Bond film ever because I think they all have to be judged against the era they were produced in and by the actors who play Bond, but SkyFall is every bit as good as Casino Royale. If you are a diehard Bond fan, you will absolutely love this movie.

I went and saw the new Bond film last night. I'm going to have to disagree with the majority of the people so far. I thought this new film was slow and they tried way too hard to continue to plug in jokes/tributes going back to all the older films. The new brutal fighting style that the Bourne movies started to make popular, to which Casino Royale had, they've completely abandoned for more traditional action movie fight sequences. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad movie by any means, but I'd put it on par with Quantum of Solace, which like Skyfall, is pretty forgettable overall.

This movie is so much better than Quantum of Solace that I find that comparison kind of weird, to be honest.
I liked that it was slow in the beginning. It took time to build. Javier Bardem was great, skirting the line between campy and menacing very well, and the end set piece of Skyfall was awesome. I loved that we finally got a little humanization of Bond, both through revisiting his history as well as his interaction with M.
I also loved the contrast of the bright flashy Hong Kong and rich colors of Macau with the dank, misty setting of Scotland at the end. Great little thematic choice.
This is a top 5 Bond movie easily. I won't say best ever, but it's certainly up there. It did a great job of fusing the new direction of the series while updating many classic elements and keeping it all fresh.

I'm going to see it this weekend.
Interesting thread because I absolutely love QOS, and thought it was easily on par with Casino Royal. In fact, the opening scene in QOS has to be one of my favorite, if not the outright favorite opening scenes ever. You barely sit down and bamn.
Daniel Craig does a phenomenal job. I like darkness he brings to the character.....and seems harder to control.
