Without getting into why I am doing it, has anybody done it and what good effects were there for you, if any?

I have not actually done an actual fast, but I have heard it is good for detoxification and cleansing. Here is a site that may have more info:

I fasted on protein shakes for about 100 days. Lost alot of weight, but the soul-crushing hunger wasn't fun. And peeing every 10 minutes got old too, gotta drink alot of water.

I did it once before. It was during Lent. I last ate at 3 pm and I did make it past 24 hours, but the last 4 hours sucked!!

I did it and entered into a spiritual, emotional, and mental state of absolute clarity that brought about a complete understanding of the universe and all otherworldly understanding.....total and complete clarity of consciousness.
But dude.... I was so friggin hungry!

annoying at first
- then trippy (more mushroom-y than acid-y)
- then sort of calming
- then annoying
