Beautiful Bluetick Coonhound Needs a Home
Hey y'all, I posted several times before on behalf of homeless pets and we had success so I'm hoping this time will be successful as well. Jolene is a beautiful Bluetick Coonhound and she is in desperate need of a home. She is currently at the shelter in East Baton Rouge. She is between 5-7 years old (middle age) and based on her behavior it seems as if she was bred for hunting or has at least gone through hunting training. She is very sweet and loving and may be reaching the end of her time at the shelter soon. I personally spent a lot of time around this dog and it breaks my heart to think that she could be put down. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Adopter will need to have a fenced in yard (so she can play!) and no cats (hunting instinct). If anyone can help this beautiful girl before her time is up, please let me know.
Thanks!

I love blueticks, and would like to own one someday, but unfortunately I'm not in the position to have a dog right now. She's a beautiful dog. I hope you find a good home for her.

Thanks, Andy. I understand! I'd keep her myself if I didn't already have 5 rescues in my backyard. Someone pointed out that she is actually an English Coonhound with bluetick coloring. Someone paid a lot of $$$ for this dog at one point. Unfortunately though, her time is running low......

Beautiful dog. But don't think my cats would be too happy though. Good luck and hope she finds a home soon.

Damn I wish I could have him. I live in Wisconsin though and the transport cost would more than likely be ridiculous.

Actually.... we do transport rescues as far north as Ontario, Canada. No cost at all, all run by volunteers. Its very successful in helping us get dogs out of the south where there are too many to up north where there are not enough. If you're interested, please let me know. You can PM me.

Little Dan and Little Anne wasn't it? I remember sitting in class in like 4th grade and my teacher reading this book. I have read it a few times since then.

PM sent. Do you have a listing of other dogs that might need rescue. Here is what I need. I have a Dachshund (Booda) that is about 3 years old, our 17 year old dog was put down a few months ago and Booda is going nuts when home alone. We have a big yard that is fenced in, about 1 acre. We also own a daycare so there are lots of children of all ages involved here. We want a 2nd dog that will fit in and be a part of the family. We took in a lab last year but turns out she was not all lab, barked constantly and aggressively at the neighbors dog, including trying to chew through the fence to get at them, and would shake when the little kids were around. She was a beautiful animal, but we couldn't risk the liability so we had to adopt her out. So please any dog you recommend make sure that they meet these parameters. I don't want to buy a dog as I feel there are just too many good dogs that need a home out there.
