fify. You likely "did it" a lot more.
I think most on here are just dumbfounded because you seem to be coming off with an attitude of "I got over, so y'all get over it".

I'm surprised by the direction this thread has taken. Tonight, while at the sushi bar having dinner, I brought up this thread to my date. We were sucking down Nigori quick, fast and in a hurry. My primary thought wasn't wondering if I was okay to drive, but rather where was I in relation to the legal limit. I convinced us both to take a cab. This thread has made a real impression on me. I don't want to be one of those people who learn a lesson after the fact. I'm home, my date passed out. We are without a car as I write this, but we didn't get a DUI.....and we were responsible. So, maybe some good did come of all this.

dood, in all sincerity-- reading your post made me feel like this entire 12 pg thread was worth everyone's time and energy in contributing... I rarely see attitudes affected, or minds changed, on SR (not that your mind needed changing)-- but it's great to see.. I really hope that a lot more people start seeing the light re. drinking & driving; IMO it's so much more fun when you can go out, have a few drinks and not have to worry about tragedy, heartbreak, fines, jailtime, etc, etc.. Thanks man.

Great stuff man, great stuff. It's just not worth the hassle of a DUI/DWI. 30$ on a cab saves you the thousands that some hidden cop behind the trees will bust you for and secondly it saves you the time, inconvenience, and just straight up pain in the *** it is to deal w/ a DUI/DWI.
In terms of cost/benefit analysis, taking a cab is ALWAYS the better choice if you're even questioning your sobriety. Even in a worst case scenario where your car gets towed it STILL saves you thousands to take the cab.
Although, in light of your post I know I'm preaching to the choir here but I wish more people would adopt your viewpoint and be able to accept that taking a cab or getting a DD is so much better for you and the others who share the road.
Again, great stuff.

I used it for our required monthly safety lecture for my employees. It made a huge impression. I found out after looking into it, we would lose our job if any of us get a DWI.

Unless you are taking in 67k by summer - it might be the best choice you ever made.

hey, wizard1183 made it onto nola.com

State Police booked a LaPlace man with his fourth DWI in five months after he struck a curb and blew a tire on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie. Justin Michael Clement, 22, had a toddler under the age of 5 with him in the vehicle, according to authorities.
Clement pulled into a car dealership in the 6600 block of Veterans after the accident, which occurred nearby at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to arrest reports and Trooper Nick Manale, spokesman for the State Police. Employees at the dealership called 911 to handle the accident.
Clement has three previous arrests for DWI beginning in October. His first arrest was on Halloween in Ascension Parish, reports said. He went on to be arrested again for DWI in November and in December, both times in St. John the Baptist Parish. No dispositions on those cases were available Tuesday.
