How do you throw away a garbage can?
No, not a little one. One of the giant garbage cans you use to bring to the end of the street.
I've tried to throw it away for every week for a month and each week when the garbage runs it is still there when I get home.

Metal or plastic?
Metal? Crush it... Jump up & down on it, fold it over, then stick in another can.
Plastic? Razor knife it... A few slits down each side, fold it over on itself & put it in a contractor garbage bag.
You're welcome.

Alternatively, you could walk a street or two over, put it on someone's curb there...
Don't like someone? Gift them a busted garbage can. Let them go through hell & back to throw it away.

I just caught the garbage truck one day and asked them to take it. But I do understand the quandary as it took several years before our schedules collided.

I wound up cutting mine up and putting it inside my trashcan. ("Yo dawg, I heard you like taking your trashcan to the curb...")
