What's the big deal, anyway?
But check this out. My co-worker is getting married next year and he and his fiancee already have the same last name - Peterson.
They bear a slight resemblence....

Do you live in Arkansas, either Carolina, or Virginia?
You know how they are about cousins!

I thought that was Kentucky?
Although, I did work with a girl in CONNECTICUT who also married a guy who already had the same last name as her. :dunno:

I'd take my wife's last name if it were Zeus, Braveheart, Charlemagne, or "the lion-Hearted". Jimmy Zeus has a nice ring to it.

Interesting topic. My wife and I did something similar when we were married. She took our daughters' last name.
Our oldest was born two years before her mom and I wed, so to avoid confusion over who the parents were, we gave her a hyphenated last name consisting of my last name and my wifes' maiden name.
When we got married, my wife hyphenated her name to match our daughter.
My own last name has remained the same throughout. Though a number of her teachers think that my surname is her mother's maiden name, since that one comes last. We actually just did it that way because it's far more alliterative.

He can change his first name to Sue.
I'd change if my name was to become Long Duck Dong

This is a huge threat to the sanctity of marriage. I propose an amendment to the constitution banning all wife name swap marriages.

my girlfriend and I recently watched hot tub time machine where this came up and she asked if i would do it.
Said absolutely not.
She got a little upset that I wouldn't even consider it.
Told her that there was nothing to consider, it wasn't up for debate or discussion. Not gonna happen ever period.
To me for a man to even think about doing this first he would have to have a goofy last name. and her name needs to be cool.
and the mans first name and her last name have to would completely bad*** together, like a superhero or something
As far as she is concerned i wouldn't insist that she take my last name she can do whatever she's comfortable with.
