Neighbor's house alarm has been going off for 3 days

When I got home from work on Thursday the alarm was going off and I didn't think much of it. Later that night it was still going so I called the police and they said it had been reported several times and had been going off since noon. They sent a car to drive by the house and nothing looked unusual. They said it must not be monitored by an alarm company because there were no calls. They also said they have been trying to get in touch with the home owner.

So after two nights of trying to sleep after downloading a white noise ap on my phone to drown the stupid thing out I'm done. I called the police again this afternoon and asked if they could do a welfare check on the house. After all they could be laying dead in the kitchen or something. The lady dispatcher said it was probably just the rain but I wasn't letting it go there and went off because they sent a car to my house for shooting fireworks on the 4th of July for "disturbing the peace" at 9pm because we were shooting $100 worth of fireworks. I asked if she would like me to come park my car in the driveway and hit the panic button then come back and turn it off on Wednesday before she finally agreed to send a car out. That was around noon and it is now after 8pm, the alarm is still going and haven't seen a sheriff either at that house or mine. Apparently my next door neighbor has also been calling to complain since the house is directly behind us kind of set back in the woods.

What should I do next other than call the police who wont do anything? What other options are there? I want to call the Sheriff's office and tell them there is this terrible odor coming from the house and maybe break a window first to force them to go inside and turn that god aweful alarm off but god forbid if there happens to be foul play I don't want to be seen doing it or leave some evidence of me kicking the window in.

Also considered renting a wrecking ball then burning the pile of debris but I'm sure the people that live there have no clue this is going on.

Blow a fuse in the house.

No electricity, no alarm.

Call back and say you heard something like gun shots... Say it sounded like it came from the direction of that house.

Break in and steal something. Clearly the cops aren't showing up...

I have never met them and don't know their last name. The address doesn't show up in any reverse phone book searches because the house has only been there for a couple months.

Maybe you can call the alarm company. Do they have an alarm company sign in their yard?

I agree with the fuse idea. Or call the electric company and see if they could shut the power off until the home owner arrives and have them leave a note to why the power is off.

Not sure if they'd do that though, just shootin' ideas.

Kick the door in. Shut off all the breakers. Take the big screen and stereo for your troubles.

Another great reason to take the time to know your neighbors atleast a little. If the police aren't touching it, I wouldnt either. Like you said- who knows what you might get yourself into.

Good call.

Reported some aweful smells coming from house. If that doesn't work the main breaker is the next stop. Hopefully it is outside. If they are gone for a few more days there will be an aweful smell when they open the fridge.

Just be prepared that if that house gets robbed you will be sued for shutting that alarm.

Im just saying. You open yourself up to all kinds of lawsuits.
Especially considering you dont even know your neighbor.
