New He-Man Movie
Another beloved 80s cartoon to get the big budget blockbuster treatment.
Can't do much worse than that Dolph Lundren turd, or as I call it He-Man and the Magic Flute.
article from IGN on how to do it right.
================================================== =====================
Given how massively successful Michael Bay's Transformers movies have been, it's no surprise that various studios are pursuing big-budget, live-action revivals of classic 1980s toy lines. G.I. Joe is another recent success, though its sequel has perplexingly been delayed until next year. Despite this delay, it's clear that Sony sees something in G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon Chu. Earlier this week we learned that Chu has been tapped to direct Sony's live-action He-Man film.
Can He-Man find the same big screen success the Autobots and Joes have? As popular as the Masters of the Universe franchise was in the '80s, the previous live-action movie didn't do He-Man any favors. Is it possible to do right by the character in live action? We say yes, and we have a few suggestions for how Chu can dust off the most powerful man in the universe for a new generation..................

If you really think about it, He-Man is the story of a steroid addicted man who wears a gimp suit and rides a giant green cat. And he hangs out with a floating man in a red dress with no face.
Stripped of the magic and fighting, He-Man is basically something David Lynch would come up with.

Hey now don't hate on Dolph. He killed Apollo Creed. Even Rocky himself couldn't do that.

dont ever say something "cant be worse" when Michael Bay is involved. Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles. Optimus Prime's lips. those two ghetto autobots. Pearl Harbor. he will find a way to rape history.
edit: nevermind, i see that Chu is directing. but its still gonna suck.

Judging by the way none of the Transformers or G.I. Joe characters remotely resemble the toys/comic book characters, I wouldn't be surprised if He-Man was cast by one of the sparkly twilight actors riding a hipster cheetah in an ironic fashion...

Holy moly dude, just stop. Please.
I cannot lie - yes, I watched He-man when I was a kid. I swear I didn't understand 90% of it, but I liked Battle-Cat, Man-E-Faces, and yes, Ram-Man.
As an adult, I can see the innuendo in the names and it frightens me.
