how do you know this? have you done experiments? has anyone else done these experiments or gathered this data? can you prove, with empirical evidence, that the sea will part evenly under these circumstances? do we have historical events (OTHER than the alleged one) that match this data? what happens to the surface above the epicenter? what happens afterward and how long does that take?

intuition and experiments in your head don't count. that is not science.

Church leaders knew centuries ago that since they were proclaiming the Bible to be 100% accurate, word of God stuff that if you could invalidate any one part as invalid...or even as allegorical, the veracity of the remainder of the Bible would be in question.

The walls of Jericho comes to mind. There is evidence (I can't remember all of it) that the walls "coming down" referred to spies that infiltrated the city and disabled their defenses allowing the attacking army to raze the city. Certainly, there's more evidence of that than actually blowing horns and felling the walls with their superior musicianship as my various Bible School teachers would have me believe.
