Cracked Screen
I cracked the screen on my Droid Incredible. I watched a tutorial on YouTube on how to change the screen, which also provided a link to purchase the screen. It looks pretty simple, but I'm sort of cautious about ripping apart my phone incase it doesn't go right.
I'm pretty good with computers so I'm not just jumping in blind with this.
Has anyone replaced the screen on their cell phone and have any advice, warnings, tips, etc...or is it really as easy as it looks?
Thanks

It's really not that bad. There are plenty of places to get the screen and tools needed on Amazon. Just make sure you get the plastic tools and the double sided tape they use to hold the screen in place.

^^^ Yup. I've done a couple of iPhones and I'm sure the Droids are easier. Just find a youtube video that shows it step by step and follow along.

Not sure about the droids but Iphone 4 screen replacement at a local chain place (CPR) costs about $100, it's hard to find the parts only for the screen online for Iphones, but not sure about your hardware..

Amazon. $30, and that's with the housing (not just the screen = don't have to heat and scrape broken glass off old housing). The screen alone runs about $12.
I just made sure I picked the one with the highest rating

Just replaced the screen on my iphone. ordered the kit on Amazon and did it myself. Wasn't too hard but takes a lot of patience to do it. I would watch the video tutorial a few times before you start.

I changed the battery in my iphone, which was only one step shy of changing the screen (Apple wanted to bury that battery in the housing to keep people from trying on their own, I'm sure...). If my screen cracked, I wouldn't hesitate to try and replace it on my own since I've already had to take the phone apart for the battery replacement. I imagine that a non-Apple product would be easier, and if I can take something like this apart, put it back together, and it STILL works, surely anyone can do it.
